comments First I was put in a room which did not have a working TV and the bathroom smelled terrible. The receptionist instantly gave me another room. The second room was better but every floorboard creaked very loudly. None of the rooms looked like they do on the internet site, they are shabby in real life, whereas online they are presented as being very clean and neat. Towels were not changed. Overall a poor choice, I would not go back unless I was stuck.

comments Very happy with everything. Will consider staying again if it suits travel plans and will recommend to others. A very small point - couldn't find remote for tv in bedroom. Was pleased to be put on ground floor as had heavy luggage and would have found it awkward if had to lug it upstairs. Thanks and all the best

comments This location was ideal, staff were excellent. After we arrived with heavy luggage, consideration was given without any request from us we were placed in downstairs room to avoid having to take same upstairs. Also any directions we enquired about were explained in easy to follow manner, we were told of local bus (opposite) that would take us to airport, this option was used by us, was inexpensive and worked fine. While we are well travelled and had just spent 2 wks travelling around Ireland, meeting only nice people, this was our first visit to Dublin and our last night, so wonderful to finish trip in this way.

comments I thought the accommodation and breakfast was first class clean, noise free, relatively spacious and staff were lovely and professional. Only disadvantage was we were top floor which meant about 7or 8 flight of stairs -I would still stay here again though without question!

comments La situación es buena, a tan solo cinco minutos del centro. El desayuno es muy completo: bacon, huevos, salchichas, mermeladas, mantequilla, cereales, pan, café con leche y té. Las habitaciones son muy pequeñas y casi no hay espacio para dejar las maletas, es algo claustrófóbico. La cama es confortable. El baño tiene toallas pero no jabón. No hay ascensor y las escaleras son bien estrechas. Relación calidad precio correcto.

comments Pros: The Abbot lodge is centrally located, the front desk staff is helpful and friendly, it is secure as the front door is operated on buzzer system for guests/ visitors to exit and enter, price Cons: the facilities are old and rundown and look nothing like the website photos, walls are thin and you can hear everything from neighbors and giests in the hallway, my bed was broken and had a huge gap on the left side, the central location makes it a noisy location, the TV doesnt not work properly and from reading other reviews on tripadvisor (after I booked and checked in...my fault!) no attempt has been made to rectify the situation (this my not be a big deal to some but when its time to wind down after a long day its nice to be able to watch a little TV, it was not "dirty" but it was not the cleanest place we stayed while in Ireland If i returned to Dublin I probably would not stay here again!

comments Soggiorno buono, camera confortevole, molto spaziosa, pulita. L'unico piccolo inconveniente è stao il servizio colazione male organizzato, con attese lunghissime e personale un po' scortese. Basterebbe poco per migliorare l'atmosfera della sala adibita alla colazione ed i clienti sarebbero leti di iniziare in modo migliore la loro giornata.

comments My stay at abbott lodge was short and brief. The staff were very friendly and helped out in any way they could. The breakfast was spot on with a traditional irish breakfast with toast coffee and juices...The hotel is situated only a 2 minute walk from the main city street of Dublin and i would recommend this place to any traveller

comments Il rapporto qualità/prezzo è a mio avviso ottimo; abbiamo dormito in letti comodissimi e la stanza era davvero accogliente; la colazione è stata ottima (ovviamente per chi apprezza la famigerata irish breackfast!!!) e il B&B si trova in un punto eccezionale di Dublino: noi non abbiamo avuto mai la necessità di prendere un mezzo pubblico per spostarci e la linea per l'aeroporto passa proprio di fronte al B&B!!!! Da consigliare a quanti intendono spendere poco e soggiornare nel cuore della città.

comments There was a leak in our hotel room so the 3 of us got moved to an apartment up the road, which was really nice! The only bad thing I would say is the kitchen wasnt very clean but definitely worth it for the low price. Receptionists are all really friendly and would definitely stay there again.

comments the hotel serves its purpose for a weekends break, it offers a bed to sleep in and a breakfast on a no thrills basis. the staff were friendly and helpful. we stayed at the very top of the hotel, which was fine, however the stairwell did smell strongly of cigarette smoke.

comments Das Zimmer war sehr klein und eng, wie in Großstädten üblich, aber sonst in Ordnung. Der 3. Stock mit einer sehr steilen und schmalen Treppe würde sich für ältere Reisende nicht eignen und auch für uns war es etwas mühsam, mit den Koffern dort hoch zu kommen, aber machbar. Mit Blick zur vielbefahrenen Strasse kann die Lage nicht als ruhig bezeichnet werden, aber vom Hotel selbst her war es ruhig. Das irische Frühstück war wunderbar, vor allem liebte ich die Bohnen. Für Leute, die früher los müssen, gibt es Continental breakfast, wenn man an der Rezeption Bescheid gibt. Das fand ich sehr gut. So waren wir mit unserem Aufenthalt durchaus zufrieden, vor allem die Nähe zum Busaras war für uns praktisch.

Also, our room was up about 48 steps, a bit much for seniors. Breakfast was sufficient. Street outside was not the best - but was acceptable. We were there seven nights. It was okay, and the price was right.

comments The heater didnt work and nor did the radio in the room, but we didnt actually tell anyone about it so cannot complain. We were only there 2 nights. The room was pleasant and more importantly, very clean. The bathroom was ok, shower leaked but tiled floor so not a huge problem. breakfast was lovely. didnt really have a conversation with the staff, it was just a place to stay, not overly friendly, but certainly not the opposite. id recommend it for short term stays. if you are a light sleeper, request a back room as the hotel is on a very busy road and Dublin doesnt exactly sleep

comments Cheap no frills B&B in a decent location of the city. Staff were excellent, extremely friendly and helpful. Even the poor chap who had worked through the night on the desk. Despite his long shift he was still very friendly in the morning when we checked out at 7am. Breakfast was homely. Just don't be under any impression that this is a 5 star, it's not but it does the job. We had no problem with hot water and in fact, the shower was great, very powerful. Only downside was the noisy road outside so if your a light sleeper, may be worth asking for a back facing room.

comments Die Lage des Guesthouse ist sehr gut! Schnell erreichbar von der Busstation und nicht weit ins Stadtzentrum. Die Zimmer sind für den Preis okay, allerdings hatten wir Probleme mit der WLAN-Verbindung. Das Frühstück war gut und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Guter Service: am Abreisetag konnten wir das Gepäck im Haus lassen und später abholen.

comments Die Abott Lodge ist eine sehr günstig gelegene und preiswerte Unterkunft. Das Zimmer war sauber und mit allen Basics ausgestattet. Frühstück war auch gut. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Straße hin, das war etwas laut und auch so sind die Wände der Lodge sehr hellhörig. Aber wenn das nicht stört, ist sehr gut aufgehoben.

comments We got in very early and the staff was happy to store our luggage until a room was ready. They even gave us the first room available so we could move our things in earlier than the official check in time. The room and bathroom were clean and secure, and the breakfast was good. The central location made it easy to see Dublin on foot. The neighborhood around the Guesthouse is lively and there are always many people on the streets, making it feel safe. I would recommend this Guesthouse to anyone who would like to stay somewhere simple, safe, clean, centrally located and affordable.

comments Two friends from Sweden spent a long weekend in Dublin and the Abbott Lodge. the hospitality was just great. We had problems with the internet access, and the owner directly offered us to borrow his laptop as he was giong away over the weekend, amazing. The breakfast was also very good and nice, friendly people handled it. EVERY time the staff were extremely obliging and nice towards us. The only thing we coplained about was that the heating was put down during night. But after complain, it was warm again the next night! We also forgot a USB memory stick which they SENT back to us in Sweden. Impressive. We can warmly recommend the Abbott Lodge for your stay in Dublin, if you look for a nice, friendly, central place with a low price! / Agneta and Paula

comments The rooms were pretty nice, espcially for such a good price, spotlessly clean. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly which I was amazed at considering it's a city and Dublin (they tend to be labelled as pricks). Full props to the kitchen staff for making us breakfast at 10 in the morning even though they shouldnt have due to us being late. Absolutely excellent place to stay, beyond reccomendation ***** stars.

comments We had a very nice stay at the Abbott Lodge. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. They also presented a nice (and large) breakfast, in a cosy atmosphere. Our room had everything you need, and was clean and OK. And of course the location is great: we did almost every visit by foot!

comments The location of this guest house is perfect for arriving by train or bus and being within walking distance. It is also quick to walk to most tourist sights in Dublin and to find a variety of restaurants. The guesthouse itself is not quite what I expected; the rooms were clean and tidy, but rather worn in their furnishings. My husband and I had several flights of narrow stairs to climb to our room, so this would not be a good place for anyone with mobility problems. The staff were helpful and the food was plentiful. I felt the cost was somewhat out of line for what we received - especially compared to other places we stayed in Ireland during our trip. (Perhaps the higher rate was due to the weekend)

comments Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Wenn möglich sollte man jedoch versuchen ein Zimmer zu bekommen dessen Fenster nicht zur Straße gehen. Die Zimmer und das Bad ist absolut in Ordnung. comments the staff where very pleasant, rooms clean and the breakfast first class and freshly cooked, there is good safety access to the building and 24 hour cover on reception. we were able to leave our bags until later in the day in the sitting area. the guesthouse was close to the bus station and easy access to buses and attractions along with shops. would stay again

The room was small but standards were high and well worth the money. For a traveller on a budget looking for good, affordable accomodation in Dublin the Abbott Lodge Guesthouse is very good value for money.

comments Breakfast is excellent. The room is fine if you just need somewhere to get your head down - nothing too fancy about them. Shower cubicle was tiny and the shower itself was very noisy. Also the gap around the door to the room ensured that light spilled in all through the night.

comments We enjoyed our stay at Abbot Lodge. The receptionists were very friendly, even though they told us the wrong bus to get on! It would be helpful if they stated which bus to take to get to the hotel from the airport. I would say the biggest negative aspect about our stay were the beds. They were incredibly uncomfortable! The breakfast in the morning was nice and filling. The location was great and within walking distance of many attractions. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for short stays in Dublin.

The reception person was minimally couteous and a (false) fire-alarm on the morning was not handled in a professional manner. Breakfats was basic but sevice was very polite. Overall, I will not recommened the Abbott Lodge considering the price and rating of the room.

comments The Abbot Lodge was a cute little B&B but there were a lot of stairs to walk up. If you have a lot of baggage I do not recommend staying here! The window in our room was also broken, so we couldn't prop it open (it was very hot in the room). The reception workers also were not very friendly. However, the Irish breakfast provided was amazing! This B&B is also in a great location in Dublin.

comments Overall would stay there again but room we got allocated was noisey on the front of the guest house, as it is located on a busy road. Would maybe request a room on the back of the house next time. However, the location was fine as not too far to walk from o'connell bridge (approx 10 mins) and temple bar (15 mins), but plenty of bars and shops on the way so no worries. Sometimes you need this walk to help sober you up!! Rooms very basic but clean. Breakfast wonderful just what you need after a night on the guinness! Staff very happy to help out with extra toast or maybe swapping bacon for sausages :-)

comments We stayed at Abbott Lodge in Dublin for 18 days. The location was very convenient for anything we wanted to do in or from Dublin. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and secure. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well-prepared and the generous portions made a great start to the day. Although no internet facilities are available to guests there are two good internet cafes very close by. We were pleased with our stay and thought the tarriff very reasonable.
