comments My husband and I had a lovely stay at the hotel the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate in the Strawberry Garden restaurant on the Saturday night the food was delicious. The help we received on the Sunday morning when our car broke down was second to none way over the call of duty it was very much appreciated. We would recommend the Mount Errigal to all our family and friends.

comments Had a a very pleasant stay in Mount Errigal recently. Staff there were so friendly and helpful. Dinners were first class as was the service provided by dining room staff. Bed rooms spacious and comfortable, and leisure centre is definitely worth a visit, decent size pool. Will certainly stay at the Mount Errigal again Sean and Margaret

comments Family room was perfect for my needs. My only issue was the temperature of water in the bath which was not warm enough for a good soak! Fine for a quick shower though. Kids loved the leisure centre.

comments We stayed ay the Mount Errigal on 3/12/11 as we were attending the Strictly Come Dancing compeyition.We were very happy with the speedy check in and our room was very good with all facilities provided including an iron and ironing board which we have found in only one other hotel. We had a meal in the bar prior to the function and we enjoyed it very much. All staff were pleasant and helpful at all times. The disco after the competition was very lively and enjoyable.Breakfast was buffet style with a good variety of fruit,juice,cereals,breads and hot food.Tea and coffee was served by pleasant waitresses.We enjoyed our stay at the Mount Errigal and will return.

comments Really friendly and helpful staff! On arrival my booking had gone missing but the reception staff were very apologetic and quickly sorted me out a room. The room was large, clean and quiet - so a good nights sleep. My only (minor) issue with the hotel is that the dining room is so dark - fine for an evening meal but not so good for breakfast. Apart from that a good stay - thank you.

comments We had a really lovely time. The staff are really nice and we all enjoyed a hearty breakfast. We had a meal in the bar too and it was tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely coming back soon. It's a good spot for children, great pool and free wifi too.

comments The room is very spacious and the breakfast served is very good of great variety. It comes with ironing facility, tea and coffee maker and television set. It is all what a guest would require to facilitate a good stay. The use of the hotel spa, swimming pool and sauna is an added delight to the guests. However, there is something that I wanted to point out and if the hotel is doing well and has the extra money, they may consider to refurbish the room a little. The wall paper is slightly dated, would do with a new coat of paint. The curtains, the duvet cover are also dated and maybe a more contemporary makeover will make the room more impressive and modern looking. Other than this, my stay in the hotel has been a good one. comments Execptional value for money. We booked a special offer weekend 2 nights B&B and 1 evening meal. The dinner at Strawberry Garden restaurant was very tasty and the staff very friendly which helped us enjoy our stay. The pool/changing area was spotless and again the staff more than helpful. The only downfall during our stay was the lack of warmth in the hotel. We found the bar/lounge area to be cold, we even had to go to the room to get a jacket. The room was also cold, especially for this time of year October - the radiator in room was not on. But overall we had a great, very relaxing time. Hotel facilities excellent and staff very friendly.

comments I wish to thank Reception who helped out me when my laptop charger blew and I was to deliver three presentations over the weekend. They kindly supplied me with a flip chart and easel for use outside of the hotel for the full weekend. I would have been lost without it, so thanks again.

comments I was attending the Georgette Jones concert and was totally taken with your wonderful offer of 1B&B for 2 and 2 course meal for 2 with glass of wine for the lovely sum of €99 in total. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit short and all as it was but would say that on nights like that maybe the staff in the Cafe, when asked for a menu, should maybe enquire if the client is on a particular offer as we had checked the regular menu out and then at time of ordering i asked woz everything on the menu open to us - to be told at that stage that there was a separate menu. As it happened what i had selected was available on both menus so I was a very happy camper. I would also like to compliment the chef on the occasion as while the food was delicious i also thought the presentatio was superb......one definitely didnt get the impression we were the 'poor relations' for being on the 'special offer' menu!! Longwinded and all as this comment may be I can safely say that i would look forward to the opportunity of staying there again .......even though I had a no charge room 14 miles out the road that night!!!

comments Overall a very pleasant stay. We stayed in a family room which had two double beds and was a good size and was very clean. The room had a small fridge which was very handy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good selection of food for breakfast, but I would advise that you get down early as it got a bit crazy round 9.30 one of the mornings and the waitresses were struggling to keep tables clear. However they were still very pleasant even under pressure! We enjoyed the swimming pool and leisure facilities also. Good value for the internet price!

Family would have used restaurant more if the family meal for thirty two Euros was explained on the first night. Mr daughter had already stayed there for two nights and did not know about this until her last night.

comments It is a few years since I stayed there and unfortunately it will be a right few more . The room and staff were good but the other areas of the hotel let it down . The hallways were dusty and as for the leisure facilities they leave a lot to be desired. The ceiling above the jacuzzi was disgusting and was full of rust. This is the first thing I look for in a hotel i spent about ten minutes Im there and left

comments My wife & I enjoyed our two night stay, the hotel was wonderful, the staff couldn't have been better. We were unfortunate to have been there on a Frifay night when there was a party of 5oo guests partying to 3.30 in the morning which was anoining, but otherwise great hotel.

comments I stayed at the mount errigal with my daughter for 3 nights whilst over for a friends wedding. The receptionists where very friendly on arrival, we went up to our room which was clean with 2 twin beds and an en suite shower room, the rooms could do with updating but other than that fine. We had a meal in the strawerry garden restaurant that night and the food was delicious and very generous portions indeed, the waitresses very helpful. Breakfast was a serve yourself affai but lots of choice and all of it lovely again! All in all can't fault our stay here :)

comments Arrived at hotel and was allocated room which wasnt ready shown to another room which was believe it was just an oversight..staff were very courteous and polite,staff were very helpful with any queries we had....the breakfast was excellent,on the sat night the dinner was also excellent...we had a very pleasant stay the w/end package was very good value....will definately stay again..thank you to all the staff!

Room was more than adequate and breakfast was lovely. Will not be waiting so long to come back to Ireland and would definately recommend the Mount Errigal to anyone! Fab weekend x

comments We had an overnight stay at the Mount Errigal.in Letterkenny.On arrival we were surprised at how modern and well maintained the hotel was both inside and out. We were checked in very quickley and by a very friendly receptionist. We were given lots of advice about things to do and how to obtain discount into certain attractions. Our room was a family room for 2 adults and 2 children which included 2 double beds. I have to say we were extremely surprised at how spacious it was . It was also very clean and bright . We also availed of the free use of the swimming pool and the childrens cinema night which only served to add to our enjoyment . The breakfast was also great with so much choice. comments myself and three friends stayed at the mount errigal hotel weekend 2 - 4th july, we found the hotel to be spotless clean , our rooms were lovely . the buffet breakfast was great and we had a lovely 4 course meal on the sunday evening all staff were helpful and friendly at all times. we made use of the leisure facility which was also lovely . all in all this is a great hotel if you are in the letterkenny area i would highly recommend it

comments This was my second visit this time I brought my mum and sisters and a few friends. the last time I visited with my children and partner. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough it was fantastic both times we were treated like royalty food was amazing I will be booking in again asap five stars to all at the mount errigal hotel keep up the good work.

comments really enjoyed our stay at the mount errigal hotel, even though the staff were flat out with all the donegal rally going on they still had time to help in any way they could.. Only thing i would change was the heat, the rooms were really warm during the night.

comments stayed for 2 days on a package deal. Hotel is kinda old but clean and food in restaurant was very good. Its also good to have the use of leisure facilities. My daughter stayed for 1 night and wasnt really impressed with the bar food, which was included in the deal but overall good value for money.

comments Although our stay in the Mount Errigal was very short,we were made very welcome from the moment we arrived to our departure.We availed of the Special Dinner, 2 courses and a glass of wine for €15. and really enjoyed it. The room was very comfortable and clean.We would have no hesitation in staying in the Mount Errigal again when we are in Donegal. Well done.

comments The staff were friendly and welcoming and were never too busy to stop and chat and give information. The room had a good location and was pleasant enough. The food was to a good standard. There was not enough room for parking the car but that was due to a large wedding party which was happening when we arrived. There was not any excessive noise from the party which meant that it was a quiet and restful stay.

comments We arrived at the Mount Errigal to a very large and bare room I felt, the shower was broken when I went to use it, and couldn't be fixed for only about an hour in the meantime we were given another room key so we could get showered, however I cannot say that, that was a great experience as was the shower wasn't working very well either. Also there were several bulbs out in the room which made it very dark, I told reception this but new bulbs were never put in. Overall despite a few hiccups we had a very nice stay.

comments throughly enjoyed my stay at the mount errigal.from b4 i checked in maeve had emailed info on where to go for nites outs and voluntered to organise taxis.hotel is lovely,food is excellent we had 4 course meal on sat nite and wanted to steal the chef.the lunch in the bar was lovely and likewise roisin and brendan in bar very friendly.really pleased with room asked for twin room stayed in 203 and had 2 double beds and flatscreen tv on wall and iron and hairdryer.used leisure facilities lovely surpriese dmore guests did not use but gr8 for us.housekeeper was very helpful and room spotless.definitely recommend and big buffet breakfast set u up for the day...cant wait to go back..brill...

comments Lovely hotel. Staff really couldn't do enough for you. Excellent facilities. Very clean. My only negative comment is that the doors bang quite loudly. We were in room 307 and usually I could sleep through a bomb but this did wake me up from pretty early. It was probably just young kids or maybe where our room was situated, but as you're asking for my suggestion, I would suggest dampeners on the doors to prevent banging. Apart from that, perfect! Would recommend and would stay again. Think my gf already gave you a glowing review on Trip Advisor. This might be because she seen someone had written a bad comment and the owner had come on and shouted a them :) In fairness the guy was blaming the hotel cause a bird pooed on his car, lol, so I think he deserved to be shouted at. Thanks

comments Checked into the Mount Errigal on the 12th March for one night upon arrival we were very pleased with the hotel. We were checked in by Orla who we both commented on afterwards as one of the most helpfull, friendly and genuie receptionists that we had ever encountered as were all the hotel staff. The overall locaton of the hotel is superb. The hotel rooms are clean, spacious and excellent value for money. The leisure centre was a great way to relax and very clean. The breakfast was delicous and oce again the staff were very helpfull and attentive. Overall great hotel and hope to return in the future.

comments My stay at the Mount Errigal Hotel was even better that I expected. The quality of service offered is that of a four star hotel. The staff are probably the most helpful and friendly that I have come across in a very long time, and the quality of the food was excellent. I was only disappointed that my stay could not have been for longer - I have used various hotels in and around Letterkenny in the past, but would have to say that the Mount Errigal offered the best overall by quite a long way. It was a delight to experience Irish hospitality - often forgotten about in our fast moving modern world. I will recommend the hotel to everyone that I speak to and hope to return again soon.

comments I choose the Mount Errigal hotel to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and had booked the 2 nights DB&B package which was an excellent price. On arrival I was a disappointed with the bedroom, I had asked for a double room and got a twin. Although the room was very dated in decor it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean but again could do with being updated or even shower screen renewed. The hotel facilities had a lovely atmosphere and food was very good. Overall the weekend was enjoyable and the staff were friendly.

comments On entering the foyer it was very cold and draughty. There is a nice area to the right but the fire was unlit and it was a very cold evening. A very nice welcome at reception and our room was very nice and clean. We had a 2 course meal later on and the fish dish was not very nice but when we complained we were offered a dessert and coffee. That was ok. I have to say the shower was the worst I have ever come accross and that alone would put me off staying there again. (I dont know if that was just our room or if thats the general shower pressure) The staff were very friendly.

comments Whilst we had a very enjoyable stay, there are areas of the hotel which could do with updating. In particular, the pool area was very run down & quite dirty in spots. I used the pool once and did not feel like using again. The bedroom we were allocated was very spacious but the window was broken & plaster hanging off the ceiling.....small things which would not take much to fix. The reception area, bar & restaurant were all very modern & nicely decorated but that could not be said in the corridors leading to the bedrooms - again they were quite shabby & rundown, definitely in need of an overhaul. I was also disappointed to be overcharged ony final bill - it was only by a small amount but still, should not have happened. On a positive note, all staff in the hotel were very friendly & helpful and the food was delicious. Unfortunately this will probably be my last stay at the hotel - unless some renovations take place, it will find it increasingly difficult to compete with the more modern & luxurious hotels in the surrounding areas.

The hotel manager we found to be not very friendly never said hello to all his customers he had time to speak to a selected few of his customers in the restaurant. We did find this to be a little off putting but the very friendly waitress made up for his lack of customer care.

comments Booked the Mount Errigal Hotel for two nights B&B and one 4 course Dinner. I thought the deal represented very good value for money and was impressed by both the Hotels Website and independent reviews. I have to say we were not disappointed. The room was probably the largest Hotel room Ive stayed in and the double bed was again probably the largest Hotel bed Ive slept in! The staff we encountered during the duration of our stay were very friendly and the receptionist was very informative with regard to restaurant reccommendations. We ate in the Hotel on the Saturday night and our meal could not be faulted. Portions were very generous and the service was excellent. During our meal a gentleman asked was everything to our satisfaction. When we asked our waiter who this gentleman was we were informed it was the Hotel owner. A very nice gesture I thought. All in all my partner and I were very happy with our stay in the Mount Errigal, we look forward to returning and would have no hesitation in reccommending it to family and friends. P McC Belfast

comments Had a very enjoyable time during our stay. Our meal in the Strawberry Garden Restaurant was excellent and all the staff were very friendly. The Manager/Owner coming around enquiring about our stay provided a lovely personal touch. It also worked out great value for money with kids staying free and extensive leisure facilities available. All in all everyone was more than satisfied.

comments arrived to hotel at 3pm and the whole hotel was freezing.Room very basic and it was like a fridge. the coldest room i have ever stayed in.Food in the bar lovely but your policy of paying before you eat is degrading. Breakfast was good. Overall very dissapointing. the cold in the hotel is a big let down.also doubled charged on my credit card when booking room on line.

comments Arrived late in the evening due to weather conditions, Booked a room for myself and our 11 year old son, at first were given just a double room, came back down to reception and was given a room that someone had previously rejected. The room absoutly stank of smoke I understand that this was a non smoking room, but the smell of smoke was unbelieveable. As it was getting late and we wanted to get something to eat, we were to tried to move rooms again. Even during the night you could taste the smoke. The room was old and tired. If weren't so tired would of requested to move rooms.

Main meal cold and service poor in strawberry restaurant. Too many people allowed to hog fire in main lounge on our stay. Leisure centre was good and reception staff friendly.

comments The room decor was dated and as for the bath/shower - not very nice to see cobwebs and big gap in the ceiling. As for breakfast and the service at breakfast, all I can say is 'very disappointing'. Overall experience- very bad and will not be returning and defintiely not be recommending. Friends of mine were staying in another hotel the same weekend and have to say a 'world of a difference'.

comments Initially we were provided with a room on the first floor - bottom of the corridor next to the fire exit door, - the fire exit was making a buzzing noise - obviously some sort of maintenance issue. The room was small, the matress on the bed was smaller than the base of the bed and the room was absolutely freezing - no idiea what the bathroom facilities were like. My husband went back to reception and raised our concerns - the worse part being the freezing bedroom. The receptionist was lovely and straight away we got a new room on the fifth floor - absolutely no issues with this room - breakfast was good and staff were friendly.

There is a very friendly atmosphere at the hotel, a real Donegal welcome from magament and staff. Comfortable public areas and clean and tidy bedrooms. Food is excellent and service top class. From a Coach Drivers point of view there is excellent safe parking at the hotel. comments Overall the stay in The Mount Errigal hotel was ok. We were a bit surprised when we checked in to be asked for payment in full. And as we don't have a credit card, we use laser and were told The Mount Errigal does not accept laser, it was just by chance that we had the correct amount of cash with us. We found the hot water not hot and cold water not cold in our en-suite.On the plus side the self service breakfast was very satisfactory and on friday and saturday we had our evening meal in the hotel which we thoroughly enjoyed. we also left our phone chargers behind in hotel and the staff were very helpful in finding them and posting them out to us.

comments I stayed at the Mount Errigal last weedend with my husband and a few friends. We had a great time the bedrooms were very comfortable and the food was great . The only complaint i would have was the entertainment because it is out of town i thought there could have been more to entertain the guests. Remember as the winter is aproaching guests dont want to leave this nice hotel to go ouy in the cold.

comments I chose to stay in the Mount Errigal Hotel based on other traveller reviews I had read. I was particularly impressed with the responses from the management team at the hotel and their attention to detail. I wasn’t disappointed! The level of service and attention at Mount Errigal was excellent. My room was large, airy and spotlessly clean. Small details are important to me –a good strong hot shower, lots of fresh white towels, a hairdryer that works well etc I hadn’t time to eat in the restaurant for dinner but the food at the bar was delicious with a good varied menu, breakfast buffet was also good and service was efficient. Free wifi throughout the hotel was an added bonus and important for business travellers. The hotel is an ideal and luxurious base for exploring Donegal. E O’Duffy

comments We thoroughly enjoyed the suite provided and made full use of the leisure facilities. Overall we had a good experience followed by a lovely day at Glenveagh Park. For your own information, it would be useful for future guests to have a manual for the most wonderful but a complicated shower in the suite and whilst i was swimming in the pool my foot caught on a big piece of plastic that came off the side of the pool underneath. I was fine and the young lifeguard was extremely nice and offering assistance which i did not need. The breakfast was great and service all round was excellent.

comments my fiancee and i stayed here for two nites at the end of august, first night we had a room at the front which was rather noisey with traffic but not a fault of the hotel really, next night we were moved to an upgraded room which was very nice, nice confortable bed and furniture, only negative thing we can say is the the tv and radio in the jacuzzi would not work and the reception on the two flat screen tv's was just a black and white fuzz. the food was lovely and the service was quick and friendly,. Mr McEniff was very friendly and made us feel very at home and comfortable during our stay. the breakfast was very good. we didnt use the leisure centre etc but everything looked clean and tidy.. we look forward to going back, thanks

We travelled to letterkenny to attend the LYIT open day and the hotel was perfect with the exception of the room we had being worn looking however that did not take from our short break. On checking out I enquired do you have any offers in place for parents of students attending the college? We will be returning for 1 night on Sunday 12th September and will require a twin room. I would appreciate an offer from yourselves. Lovely swimming pool to a decent size.

comments Quite a good hotel - lots of families there when we stayed so breakfasts were a bit hetic and food was buffet style - quite average. We stayed in a room which had a lovely bathroom - steam shower / foot massager. However there were no instructions on how to use any of these so they were a wasted on us. In fact there wasn't any of the usual hotel information booklet in the room at all. We only were staying 1 night.

There are only two things firstly the queue at breakfast was really bad and we didnt bother going for breakfast 2 of the 3 mornings. And the second was our TV the sky chanel had sound but no picture and just lack of TV chanels. Both things were not major issues we still loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

comments After 3 attempts at getting in to room the receptionist came to room to check problem, she changed the batteries still couldn't get in then she let us in and then had to have a gentleman come to sort out problem!! So about 10 - 15 min later we got in to room. My sister had stayed at the hotel the previous night and apparently they had the same problem with their door not opening!! Perhaps you should have the locks serviced! Had bar snack o arrival and the onion rings were burnt to a crisp, I ask for them to be taken away, the waitress wasn't very pleasant said nothing just looked at me?? she returned few minutes later with another portion which looked quite similar!! Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the other staff helpful particularly the night staff. Thankyou

comments A pleasant stay and good value. Room was clean and tidy although one of the windows didnt open but staff sorted this by producing a fan for the room which was great. Food excellent. One reception staff girl very helpful and pleasant but the other one wasnt. Great car parking facilities. Overall, I would recommend your hotel to others and will hopefully be back.

comments The Mount Errigal is a lovely hotel. It has a beautiful reception area with a warm glowing fire. The staff were friendly. The room was spacious and suited our needs with twin girls. The food in the restaurant was a bit pricey for what was on offer. The childrens pool was not suitable for our girls (too much water for 15month olds), but older toddlers would enjoy it. Overall I enjoyed our stay. The hotel is also in close proximity to the town of Letterkenny.

Rooms very well equipped and just about within comfortable walking distance of the town.The swimming pool and leisure centre were fantastic and the beds very comfortable. Late November and the evening entertainment was somewhat sparsely attended! Only slight minus - there was a slight hum, like a boiler starting up, outside our window all through the night.

comments Our stay overall was satisfactory and the food was very good.However we found the hotel to be quite cold in the reception area and very cold in the bar.For the 2 nights we spent in the bar we were uncomfortable because of the chill in the air(as if there was no heating on) and even had to keep our coats on at one stage. Also,on the Saturday night we were woken up at 4am by wedding guests shouting and talking loudly.This went on until 7am,so consequently we got very little sleep.I'm sure the other guests staying must have heard the noise too.Unfortuntely this spoilt our stay,which didn't prove as relaxing as we'd hoped.

comments The hotel was clean and the staff very courteous. Only problem was that we had booked a family room only for the kids to be woken by loud music coming from the bar. Not pleasant but to be fair the hotel did offer another room. The food was excellent and the service was second to none. I would recommend the hotel but make sure your not above the bar.

comments We were very disappointed with a number of things in the hotel, we never have seen smaller beds for a double room, our breakfast table was cleared before we even had had our cooked breakfast, my wife went to use the iron in our room before going for dinner on Saturday evening only to find it not working, on contacting reception the porter took her to 5 rooms before they found an iron that worked. When we were shown to our table for dinner on Saturday evening to choose from a disappointing menu we were greeted with a dust covered table from the renovations that were on going in the foyer. Having been seated we were not even asked by the waitress if we would like a drink from the bar while we choose what to eat. We felt totally let down by the service offered by the hotel of the reputation of the Mount Errigal and would not consider this hotel if booking further breaks through bookassist.

comments I found this hotel a big dissapointment to what was advertised. The reception was located through the front bar then through the dining area. The bedroom wallpaper was hanging off the wall. The iron did not work and when I requested a iron and board, there was only one leg on the board. I was not offered another one. The breakfast was not nice/healthy or tasty. The tea was vile. But, I must say the evening meal was delicious

comments Food was very good especially dinner that was included in deal. room allocated had 4ft bed for my husband and I. Given new room on 2nd day which was fine. Disappointed that Jacuzzi not working in Leisure centre for duration of stay.staff could not confirm when it would be fixed so each time i used leisure centre I kept hoping it would be fixed but no joy.Overall value for money was good. staff in bar very pleasant, good pub grub.

comments THE STAFF AT THE HOTEL ARE EXTREMELY PLEASANT.THE FOOD IN THE HOTEL IS EXCELLANT.UNFORTUNATELY ROOM 336 IS A DIASTER WHEN WEDDINGS ON THE NOISE LEVEL WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND WE HAD TO GET BACK UP AT MIDNIGHT AND STAY UP UNTIL IT FINISHED AT 2AM.NO BEDS FOR CHILD AND NO TOWELS PROVIDED FOR CHILD EITHER.GUESTS NOT ATTENDING WEDDING SHOULD BE ADVISED OF THE NOISE LEVEL IT WAS A DISGRACE.WE COMPLAINED BUT HOTEL FULL AND ROOM COULD NOT BE CHANGED!
