comments Extremely helpful and friendly staff on reception and also in the bar. They gave great recommendations and directions for an evening in the city. There was a very nice selection of cold food buffet at breakfast however I was unimpressed with the hot food selection which was not restocked, and found the scrambled eggs inedible. The room was nice, clean and comfortable however it was a huge hike from reception up and down stairs which was a pain, especially when my keycard didn't work three times(!). The pool and leisure facilities were nice and all in all I enjoyed my stay

comments Our stay in the Montenotte Hotel was perfect. My flight was delayed a few hours and when I eventually checked in (a few hours later than I had informed the hotel) the friendly staff were on hand to check us in and our room can complete with complientary rose petals in our room. It is situated in a nice location and not too far a walk from the city centre (albeit an uphill walk) providing you don't get lost like I did - though that was through my own fault of not paying attention to directions! The view from the bar is spectacular - especially at night - and really relaxing too. We also had a late lunch and the food was perfect. Only fault I found was I never booked in to stay long enough. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing weekend away - just what we needed!

comments I was very happy with our stay at the montenotte hotel. We were checking in late and due to this i requested to check out late and the manager offered this to me free of charge, it is the small gestures like this that would make me think of staying at the hotel again. We did not get to use the pool as we were very tired due to our late flight...which was disappointing as i always like to see what these type of facilities are like. Also, i found the bar staff, especially one young guy, to be very friendly and helpful. Also...the general decor but esp the paintings around the hotel are georgous :)

comments Stay was pleasant, food was georgeous and all staff very helpful. One comment to note was to put the do not disturb sign on your door in the morning. On Saturday we had planned a small lye in and had our alarms set for 10.am. We were woken to several loud knocks at 8.30 by a member of the house keeping staff who asked if we wanted our room done, I asked her what she wanted and she persisted knocking until I physcially got out of bed and answered the door to her ...and then when I said I did want the room done and to call back, she was not impressed. On Sunday when we were going down for breakfast we noticed everyone had the 'do not disturb sign up' so clearly she had woken the whole floor as well. Thought this was very bad form when you plan a relaxing weekend away. Also it was a double room and we only got one bath towel and one hand towel, something small, but this was disappointing too. However, hotel near the city centre and nice bar and breakfast etc. Pleasant stay all in all apart from the unrequested morning wake up call.

comments My bedroom was opposite a clairvoyant and she was obviously a good one ad she had so many appointments. It was a little weird to have people on chairs outside my bedroom door. She had early appoints too and the noise did wake me up, I travelled for 5 hrs to reach hotel and I wad wrecked. A sleep in would have been great. I felt reception could have shown more signs of warmth and welcome. E.g she never initiated any conversation. It was difficult to get a drink in the bar and I don't really know why! I had s fabulous seafood chowder in bar and I really enjoyed it. The breakfasts were excellent too so the kitchen is obviously well equipped. I used the leisure facilities and they were excellent. If I go to cork again, I don't think I'd come back to the Montenotte.

comments My husband and I stayed at your hotel recently and found everything to our satisfaction - rooms clean, staff pleasant etc. My husband is of the opinion that the reception staff gave the impression of total disinterest in their visitors and I would agree that the young lady on the desk would give a much better impression of the hotel if she affected an interest in the comings and going of the residents. We found the food fine but I would add that the dining area, especially the seating and floor, tended to look as if a class of young children (not housetrained) had recently eaten when we came down for breakfast. All in all, we had a happy enough few days in the Cork area and would return again - especially as we booked the night before on impulse through lastminute.com.

comments Quite happy with everything with our stay.Our meals were very good.The staff were very helpful.The receptionist was most helpful her name was Ann she is from Dun Laoire she told me.One tiny comment we asked about Mass Ann told us it was 12noon at St Patricks the other girl said 12,30 luckily we were early and made it just as the gospel was on so 12 noon was correct .Barbara Haslam

comments The hotel itself was as expected. However we thought that all of the staff were fantastic and extremely helpful especially since they were so busy with the Cork Jazz Festival. For breakfast it would be nicer if there was more hot food available for vegetarians such as mushrooms and tomatoes. I did see that some people ordered these but as it was so busy this took quite some time so it would be better if a small amount of these was available in the same way as the sausages etc.

comments We really enjoyed our stay in the Montenotte. It was close enough for walking to the city cente, the accommodation was of a high standard but more so the welcome. A few small details were taken care of without fuss, the food was to a very high standard and the bar had a lovely atmosphere. The toilet flushing mechanism was not easy to use, which was the only flaw. The staff were well trained friendly and chatty, from the reception to the dining room ( I know more about Hungarian poetry now !) and to the bar ( a short lesson on making Irish coffee would make it perfect). We can certainly recommend the Montenotte as an excellent choice for price, location and atmosphere. The musicians of the night were accomplished and worthy of praise also. Paddy & Marcella.

comments Lovely stay- very pleasent and friendly staff. Tidy rooms- however when we arrived ther was only one bath and hand towel in the room and we had to request a second set- which was promptly given. Would stay there again.

comments Very comfortable apartment, well equipped with cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc. Would have been useful to also have a dishtowel and cloth for wiping work surface. Hotel itself very good with good views over the city, and we took one meal there which was excellent.

comments We had a wonderful visit to Cork & staying at the Montenotte Hotel was a pleasure but it is definitely a taxi ride to the shops & restaurants. The satff at the Montenotte are really friendly & very willing to help - this made our stay much more pleasurable. We had an evening meal in the Bistro, the fun was fantastic & breakfast is excellent with so much to chose from. We stayed in 2 twin rooms - very comfortable, clean & spacious. I woould recommend this hotel especially for the view over the city & I would definitely consider retuning for another visit. Excellent value for money. comments The Montenotte Hotel is great hotel; the staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms and ensuite are good, clean and as advertised, the bar is spacious and friendly, and the restaurant is very good (we had 1 dinner and breakfast every morning). It is located uphill about a mile from the river. The leisure center is small but well laid out, new and well maintained/very clean. Overall a very enjoyable stay, On my next overnight staty in Cork this hotel would be my forst option.

comments Nice room...looked like had been redecorated recently. Set dinner not fantastic. Restaurant was very quiet on the Friday night. Good breakfast. Leisure centre was good, nice pool. Soap in showers would have been nice.

comments The staff were all lovely, very helpful and polite. The room was disappointing as it smelt of smoke and the bathroom of pee. (I think though that the smell was off the shower curtain) as all the parts of the bathroom were completely clean. Also there was only one bar for residents and there was a Christmas party on in full swing with very loud music which precluded a quiet night cap. Breakfast, while tasty, was a bit unoriginal - very packet based.

comments Overall it was a very pleasant stay, the room was lovely and the staff were very helpful and polite I have to give a special mention to the waitress's as they were both very friendly and helpful.
