This is a great find - very convenient for arrivals/departures at the airport. The rooms, public areas and food are excellent and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Extensive grounds with walks and a golf course and the gym is spacious and well equipped.

Excellent hotel with welcoming staff, top quality breakfast and dinner. The suites, spa, grounds and garden are beautiful. Location is very good being within walking distance of Pat Shortts and easy
driving distance of the Atlantic, Stephen Pearse, Ballymaloe and Jameson.

It was our 2nd visit to the resort. We were very much looking forward to it, and were not disappointed.
Diner in the restaurant, quality of service and standard of food were outstanding, our expectations were fully met.
My wife and daughter in law enjoyed Spa, whilst we boys had fun on the golf course. The pool was a treat for the whole family.
Thanks for an outstanding weekend, to be repeated.

Really enjoyed our stay.All the staff were so pleasant,nothing was a problem,and anytime we passed anyone in the corridor they made a point of saying hello,which is a small thing to do but often missing in other hotels I've stayed in. We also had a meal in the bell tower,the food was exemplary and the service was prompt...delicious,melt in your mouth steaks and lovely choice of house wine!! Looking forward to our next trip to castlemartyr!!

Our stay at the hotel was perfect. From the first moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and all of your staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was excellent and we also made use of the outstanding SPA facilities. We were at the hotel for a wedding and everything associated with it was also brilliant. Overall first class. Thanks very much.

I had a wonderful stay in Castlemartyr. The staff couldn't have been nicer from the manager Andrew to the reception, restaraunt and bar staff. The setting speaks for itself and it was most beautiful. The food was excellent. My only complaint was that one night wasn't enough for us! It's the perfect place for a few day's away. Overall we had a wonderful night in Castlemartyr Resort and will most definitely return in the near future. Go raibh míle maith agaibh ar fad ag Castlemartyr Resort. Bhain muid an oiread taithneamh dhá bhuíochas sin dhaoibhse.

The Guestroom, The servicing, The Staff attendance, The Food quality and service were all excellent, and indeed exceeded our expectation. One tiny but important omition. A small magnifying mirror in the admitidly well provided bathroom would have been much appreciated.

My partner and I stayed at the castlemartyr for 2 days and wished we had booked the entire week. It was 5 star from the minute our taxi pulled up. The food was fantastic, the room we had was beautiful and fully equipped with everything that we expected and much more. The staff could not have been more helpful even if they tried.
The spa treatments were of the best standard and worth every penny.
The only problem we had was that my partner got an order of food that he did not eat as he did not enjoy it. The waitress then got the manger {which we did not even request} and he could not have been more sorry, he refunded our meal and gave us complimentary desserts.
I am a very difficult person to please and the only thing they could have done to make the stay better was change the weather!! Nothing that I requested was impossible for them.

My wife and I really enjoyed our recent stay at Castlemartyr. we especially valued the peaceful surroundings and the beautiful grounds. We found the staff very friendly and the food was delicious. George was particularly helpful and facilitated our walk with Countess and Earl. We will certainly be back!

Enjoyed the stay, rooms fab, pool great, best breakfasts of our holiday. Only comments would be to increase the diversity of music in the bar - the lyric fm inspired soundtrack was nice but the loop was very short! Would be great if you could put a hot vegetarian option on the bar menu and maybe increase the number of vegetarian options. Overall a really good break and we would definitely consider returning.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was superb in every respect. The grounds and setting are exceptional. So much so, that we cancelled our plans to tour the area on the second day of our visit and stayed around the hotel instead. A very relaxing stay it turned out to be. Although a long way from our home (Co.Louth), we will certainly consider making a return visit. One small negative: The lighting in the bar/lounge is very poor once darkness falls. It could be just a little brighter! Also, on one evening the smoke from the log fire in the bar/lounge was a bit overpowering, which drove us out to the Living Room.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Castlemartyr and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. We even extended an extra day because we were late arriving and wanted to fully enjoy the facilities and gardens. Our daughter loved the pool and we were very happy with our room and all of the meals. It was some of the best food we had in Ireland and the dinner we had there was on par with the best restaurants in San Francisco.

We would happily return to Castlemartyr for another wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings with all the amenities which it has to offer. The food and service were excellent, the accommodation 1st class and very friendly welcoming staff. We enjoyed a swim before breakfast but didn't get to the gym. Next time we hope to try the golf course.

Everything staff etc etc was absolutely superb. Unlike Ballymaloe all your ingredients were obvilously of the very best quality and perfectly cooked.
Only slight imperfection was the choice of background music - but I had to think hard to come up with that one.

We stay in room 221 I found to warm in the night. but the hotel room was the best I have ever come across in all the hotels i stay all over the world
And I must say the staff are so nice and so well trained they really do make you feel like the hotel is you home. We will be back to stay at the Castlemartyr resort only this time we will be having our wedding so we will bring all our family and friends to share special day in a very special place. really enjoyed our stay at the resort . the hotel staff were brillent and a credit to the resort , very friendly .and for the three days we stayed there all we saw were smiling faces.the bedroom and bathroom have to be seen to be believed .the grounds were superb and a pleasure to walk .great credit to the maintenance personel.a fantastic experence ,and will return for the next special occasion ,may even drop in for afternoon tea ,that would be worth a visit in itself ! top marks!

We moved to Ireland 3 years ago from North America for a temporary career placement and as such have made it our goal to see as much of Europe as possible. We have travelled to many countries, but our absolute best holiday was at Castle martyr Resort. The staff were exceptional, the facilites outstanding and the castle and grounds absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be returning.

Hi, Just to say that this review is in relation to our stay 25th - 27th Feb '11 as we had to change our dates of stay. We checked in at approx 6.45pm. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. It was unfortunatle that we hadn't pre-booked a time for dinner on the first night (25th) as first dinner availability was 9pm (too late for us - but that is a personal choice) or spa treatments for 26th or 27th as we found that these were fully booked on our arrival which was dissapointing but completley our own responsibility for not pre-booking. The only fault we had was that there were no clothes hangers(except for the two for the complimentary dressing gowns and slippers) in our room on arrival (room 130), we have never encountered this at ANY hotel before! However, it was addressed quickly by the house-keeping staff who called to offer to turn down our room . Extremely pleasant & helpful staff, in particular, Claire in the dining room. Thank you all. Regards, Janice Cregan. P.S. The ironing board does not affix correctly in position - it continuously falls down, (a potential risk for residents) we ironed using the poofe at the end of the bed.
