Staff at Reception, the restaurant and leisure centre were all very friendly.
Room was nice but would have liked a room with a view of the sea and not the car park. |

Beautiful experience at the Carlton Kinsale. Room was large and the staff were possibly the best trained I have come across in Ireland. Did notice the price of drinks at the bar to be a little steep but on the whole a lovely place to stay. |

Overall, location, facilities and ratings exceeded the personal experiences of our stay. Some finishing details in the walkways need to be reviewed along with the unpleasant odours in the steamroom and at times in the bedroom. An infestation of black flies followed the servicing of our room and was not dealt with satisfactorily. (Surely vacuuming the flies is not the answer!) |

Although the hotel itself was lovely and of a high standard, staff friendly and the place well maintained, the quality of food and level of service in the restaurant was not what was expected from a 4 star hotel. There were also problems with the lighting and electricity supply to the hotel and lights kept flickering on and off which was very annoying. in addition lifts were turned off and one of the people in our party was a heavily pregnant woman who was not too impressed with having to walk up stairs! Also at check in we were asked if we wanted papers delivered to our rooms, we said yes but only got them delivered on the first morning! not very good service. |

The hotel itself was beautiful and staff very friendly. However the quality of the food and service in the hotel restaurant was below the standard expected of a 4 star hotel. In addition, the lighting in the hotel was constantly flickering due to problems experienced with their generator - they also turned of the lifts in the hotel because of this which meant with 2 small children we had to lift buggies and kids up stairs to get to our room. |

We found the Carlton Hotel ,Kinsale to be generally very satisfactory. However ,our meal in the restaurant was far from satisfactory. When the main course arrived it was cold ,very cold. There was no problem replacing it, but when the replacement came (sirloin steak),it was slightly thicker than a slice of bacon, and it was well done as opposed to medium rare, which was practically impossible to achieve because of the thickness.I ate it because at this stage (one and a half hours after ordering),I was very hungry. Also when booking throgh Bookassist I was asked about any special requirements or comments. I stated that the reason for our visit was 25th. wedding anniversary and not even a single flower was placed in the room on our arrival.Other hotels we have stayed in the past have had flowers ,champagne etc. when informed of a special occasion.Other than these moans the hotel has a wonderful location and the spa and pool area is wonderful Cheers, Thomas Moore |

My wife and l enjoyed our stay at the carlton, kinsale .The one thing that disappointed us was the bar/lounge area , with nothing to attract you to it or to keep you there .The area is hidden away with no daylight coming into it. Perhaps an area on the ground floor opening out onto your beautifuf grounds and your outstanding views may be more attractive .yours martin connolly . |

It did not seem to have the little attributes in the bedroom one associates with a 4/5 star hotel i.e. Small things like cotton wool, conditioner, pen/pencils/biscuits with coffee/dressing gown/slippers etc .
Also, not a very welcoming bar locationed poorly in the hotel and rather cold.
However, service was very good, food was excellent and overall we had an enjoyable stay

Fantastic stay at the Carlton, hotei is amazing overlooking Oyster Bay. Facilties are excellent and the staff are extremely friendly, can't do enough for you. Rooms fab, plenty of room and very modern and bathrooms great, bath & separate shower unit. Very clean. Food excellent in the restaurant and again it overlooks the bay and the sunsets are amazing!!! Highly recommend this hotel for pure luxury and relaxation. About a 3 mile drive from the town of Kinsale but a haven on the outskirts!!! Pool and spa facilites great, didn't take too advantage of these because the weather for so good we stayed outdoors!!! Fishy Fishy restaurant only opened lunch time in the town serves fantastic fish, worth a try!!! The Bullman is a lovely pub/restaurant a short drive from the hotel, services excellent food, great spot. The Spaniard is also a great old pub with a good trad session on a Monday night. Kinsale's a great spot definitely the jewel of Ireland with stunning views on a sunny day!!! You won't be disappointed!!! |

We really enjoyed our stay at the Carlton. This is bound to be a very popular hotel for that relaxing getaway. The staff were very accomodating and everything we asked for we got. This will be the best place to go and just lounge around, get the site seeing and the visit to The Spaniard pub out of the way early in your trip and just take full advantage of the views, the water feature (that's an understatement), the setting and ROOM SERVICE for the rest of the trip. Only slight issue is the sense of detachment from the staff while staying there, but that is because it relatively new and people I'm sure are finding their feet. I will definitely be staying there again. |

I recently experienced excellent customer call service with bookassist in booking my hotel with the sasha spa break offer. Your staff on both occasions were most helpful, friendly and professional.
I had a most pleasant stay in a modern new hotel with beautiful surroundings overlooking Oysterhaven Bay which proved a refreshing change of scenery for hotels. The shuttle service free to town fron 2 pm to 11pm was most welcome and the spa facility was most indulging and rejuvenating.
The restaurant service and meals were excellent and made up for the poor bar sevice and delays getting our rooms until 4pm and 530pm even thogh check in was 3pm. We reported our compaints to management which they took on board and explained they had difficulty vacating rooms from previous wedding and were working on the bar service.
We will return in the future to the Carlton despite these concerns, and will certainly use bookassist service again.

The Carlton Hotel Kinsale is a Haven of Tranquility situated in woodlands overlooking Broadhaven Bays with fantastic views of the countryside. My sister and I stayed there recently, we enjoyed a fantastic time. I would certainly recommend it to all. Our spacious comfortable bedroom overlooking a water feature at the front of the hotel. We enjoyed a swim in the leisure centre and also some treatments at the Spa where the staff were very effecient and friendly we felt so relaxed afterwards. Four friends joined us for dinner in the dning room which has spacticular views. The service was excellent and food delicious. Our stay was short but I intend to return and cannot wait to explore the woods and countryside nearby an avail of the excellent service that the Carlton Hotel Kinsale provide! |

Overall, was happy with my stay at the Carlton Hotel Kinsale, but have a few comments to make. Firstly, room wasn't ready when we arrived, even though we arrived at 5pm. Secondly, the room had an overpowering smell of cleaning agent, which took a few hours to go. Also, was surprised that a number of the dishes on the set dinner menu had an additional charge, which we were unhappy about. |

I have stayed in quite a number of hotels in Ireland and I have to say my stay in the Carlton was perfect. The location and design was top class and the efficiency and warmness of the staff was top class. I enjoyed my stay so much that my Dad and his partner are staying for 2 nights on the 31st March. I will stay there again but I will stay two nights instead of the one night and will defintely have another Spa Treatment. |

We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend at the Carlton Hotel, Kinsale. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The Leisure Centre and Spa are about the best we have experienced - the spaciousness and layout of the leisure centre was very impressive, whilst the Spa facilities and professionalism of the staff were second to none. We did find that the bar and restaurant lacked atmosphere - we felt that the decor was the main contributor to this. Having said that, the food was good (but a little slow) and the staff were responsive and good natured, despite being run off their feet. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely return. |

Myself and my partner stayed in the New Carlton Hotel, Kinsale for two nights between Christmas and the New Year. It is a beautiful hotel, the scenery is breathtaking, the rooms are spotless and very comfortable, (but, maybe a bit cold )and the food was delicious! I thought for the time of the year there might have been some entertainment. Apart from that we had a lovely stay. |

We requested a waterview room which they didn't book even though our reservation was made weeks ahead. They changed our room for the 2nd night but we had to wait around for hours while this happened. Then the toilet in the room didn't flush and the bathroom door was coming off it's hinges.
However the rooms decor is very tasteful and the pool area is truly lovely.
The entre and main course in the restaurant is very average for a hotel located in an area famed for it's food (However the deserts are gorgeous) |

Disliked the fact of special restricted menu produced for our included dinner . Seemed petty. We had intended to dine another night but declined. Otherwise Hotel & room exellent, will stay again. |

A little off the beaten track for a family group...but suited us...two adults.. just fine. Food very good and lovely decor. The pool was out of action for a few days, and they offered us some spa treatments in lieu...which was very generous. Have booked again! |

We have stayed there twice, once in the hotel and once in one of the suites. We loved it both times. The food is excellent and the staff are most helpful. |
