	My wife and I have been going to this hotel at least twice a year for the last 6 or 7 years, we had our wedding reception at the hotel and it was lovely, we have never had any complaints, the staff are very friendly and helpful, we always find the hotel very relaxing and the choice of food is very good

We went for an overnight stay at the Slieve Russell for my husband's birthday, On Arriving we found we had been upgraded to a suite. In our room we wrere delighted to find a birthday card, box of chocolates and bottle of wine as well as some fruit and bottles of water. The meal that night was excellent and the staff so pleasant and friendly. This was our second stay at the Slieve Russell and will certainly not be our last.

My wife and I stayed in the SR weekend 27th Jan 2012 and had a fabulous time. The staff were courteous at all times and the food is second to none, we had evening dinner in both restaurants. We walked around the Golf course on the Saturday morning, what wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. I would definately stay here again and will be later in the year. I would totally recommend this country club and Spa for a relaxing weekend or longer break.

	Superb hotel, excellent food and service. Stayed for two nights and we were well looked after. Our room was at the front of the building over looking the road and a huge generator, however we were not troubled by any noise during the night. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

	The hotel was lovely, the room was spacious and well equipped. The only draw back from our stay was the breakfast in bed which was very poor for a hotel of the standard of the Slieve Russell. The rashers, sausages and eggs were all badly dried up and it did let the overall experience down.

	fabulous hotel with brilliant and efficient staff leisure centre great with extensive opening hours. room really spacious . only down side was speed of meal served in the restaurant on our second night, starter to dessert completed in 1 hour, little more time between courses would have made for a more relaxing evening .food gorgeous though

The first time that we stayed in the Slieve Russell Hotel was for our 10th Anniversary in 1992 and we were amazed to find such a hotel in Ireland. I found that the hotel is in excellent condition and has excellent facilities. We found the staff very warm and welcoming and everyone knew where they should be and what they should be doing. The food in the restaurant was excellent and everyting was cooked to perfection. However, although we booked a superior room I still found it expensive for the off-season period Overall we enjoyed our stay.

	We had a lovely and very relaxing weekend. Superb staff and no negative comments - even the weather was good! Only thing we would say is that we were slightly mystified as to why, on checking out, our sister in law received a 50 euro voucher to use on her next trip and we didn't! Was it something we said?!!

	Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend break. The attitude and care shown by your staff was outstanding. Truly, nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and quiet and food was exceptionally good. The ambience in all areas of the hotel was warm, relaxing and above all welcoming. 	We stayed recently, having availed of the Mid Term family package.Our 2 night break was just perfect. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the service was brilliant. Staff were very friendly and courteous. Facilities are very good with the Country Club and the Ciuin Spa. I really can`t fault the Slieve Russell hotel

	The hotel has an excellent range of facilities and is extremely child friendly. The staff and the levels of service we received were exceptional and more than willing to assist in any way possible. The family room was spotless and spacious, even though we had an exrtra single bed to accommodate 5 people. The food was of a high standard and catered well for children. A very enjoyable experience!

We had a most enjoyable three day break in the Slieve Russell and although we had originally planned to explore the wider area, spent the three days being pampered by by all the faclities the hotel has to offer. We had a superb meal each evening in the main restaurant with excellent quisine; five star customer care and service from the staff and a very talented pianist playing in the background. During the day we enjoyed all the facilities of the health spa; pool and hot tub followed by a two mile walk around the perimeter of the golf course. Overall we had a superb three days in the Slieve Russell which we will repeat as soon as our diaries permit. Thank you for a genuinely memorable short break that set us both up to return to work refreshed.

	We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away at the Slieve Russell. The food was lovely and eventhough we had booked 2BB & 1D, we still ate in the restaurant on the second night. The staff in the hotel were polite and very professional. One small thing I would say that the decor could be updated in the hotel but this is not something that would stop us coming back again.

I was on a girlie weekend with a friend and we found the room very clean, well equiped and surprisingly quiet, given that there were two weddings on each of the nights we stayed there. The staff were very friendly, helpful and patient. Breakfast was lovely, however the only thing that could have been improved on was the food in the evenings. We ate in both restaurants and found the food to be ok but not special. Would I go back again ? Yes, for a family break with kids.

	Being a former Restaurant Manager myself and my wife a chef we were overawed with the food/service and professionalism of everything during our stay. 	A beautiful hotel. staff v pleasant from the minute you enter the hotel and are greeted by conor to the receptionists, Amelia. The staff in the restaurant were also superb, Maria was serving us at our meal on Saturday night, she was excellent. Thankyou for making our stay most enjoyable.

My husband and myself had a lovely stay in your hotel on the night of the 24th August.After having a very nice meal we went for a walk in the beautiful gardens and around the golf course. The following morning we had breakfast but unfortunately the weather was not to kind to us so after checking out we had no option but to make our way home. I really enjoyed our stay and found the staff very friendly.

	A beautiful hotel! I'm not a golfer, but your course made me almost wish I were! Very courteous staff, well stocked bar. The food was excellent as was the decor. Should the opportunity arise for me to visit Ballyconnell again I would not hesitate to stay at your fine resort.

My Wife and I stayed at the beautiful Slieve Russell Hotel recently to celebrate our anniversary! We had been many times before and even stayed there for a few days during our honeymoon in 2007! We love the place so much! It has all you could want under one roof! Lovely food, a lively bar with evening entertainment, great staff all very welcoming and friendly! The spa is luxurious with great therapists! My wife is a therapist herself and couldn't praise her therapist high enough! The beautiful gardens and walkways are a must to see! You will never need to leave the place, once you are there! I love golf and it has the best courses! The room was clean, spotless and comfortable. Plus if you miss your daily trip to the gym while away from home, there is no excuse not go,as residents have full use of the gym, pool, sunua and steam room for free!!!! We booked a 2 night midweek package and it was certainly value for money. We stayed in a standard room and although it was a bit faded and dated it was comfortable enough. Not sure we would have wanted to pay full price though. Having said that we would recommend a midweek break at this hotel, breakfast was great and the waitress at dinner went out of her way to be helpful which was much appreciated.

	My wife and I and our two Canadian guests were very pleased with our stay in the Hotel. The rooms were clean and well presented - though I woud have liked a trouser press. The staff were very attentive and pleasent. The grounds were beautifully kept and all the little walkways proved very popular with our guests too. We would have no hesitation in returning for a further visit.

We got married in the Slieve Russell Hotel in Sept, 2009... We had an amazing time, and have been back several times for a weekend break/spa break. All staff have been absolutly wonderful, and each time we have stayed we have had one of the fantastic rooms overlooking rhe golfcourse. I could not fault anything with any of our stays in the Slieve Russell hotel, everything was perfect - from service to food. Cant wait unitl our next stay in the hotel!!!

	Lovely room, got an upgrade with view over the golf course. Pool perfect for children. Fab marked out 2 mile walk around the golf course. Food delivered to room was poor & expensive. Hotel bars very crowded as too many hotel functions on at once

	Me and my boyfriend were very impressed with our stay at the Slieve Russell Hotel. The hotel and grounds were lovely and the fact that we got a room upgrade was even better! Dear Sir or Madam, I have recently returned from holiday in Ireland during which I stayed at the Slieve Russell as part of the Daniel O'Donnell concert package on the 19th July. The hotel, room, staff, food & concert were all excellent. However I do have one complaint. As the hotel hosted the concert and offered the package, I would have thought that better placed seats would have been offered with the package as you would have had access to the concert tickets well in advance of the concert. I was not asking for front row seats but 6 to 10 rows from the front would have been preferable to the 6 - 10 rows from the rear which i was given. The seats behind me had a better view of the stage as they were tiered and looked over the seats in front. You may wish to take this into consideration when offering concert packages in the future. 	I really enjoyed the spa, the hamman was nice and the massage was really lovely. there was a wedding on so the lobby was a little busy but we were not disturbed by any noise later.

	great hotel, the grounds are amazingly well kept. Room was very spacious and had all what you would expect from such a hotel. Staff are genuinely very friendly. We were there for a wedding and we enjoyed the best food ever. Would have loved to have more time to enjoy the leisure centre and spa facilities.

	Should be a 5 star hotel. Staff very attentive and professional. Hotel is spotless. Fictures and fittings immaculate - no wear and tear. Food fabulous. Didn't get an opportunity to visit spa which was a pity it would definately be on my priority list when I return for a visit.

We stayed at the Slieve Russell the night before a wedding in Ballyconnell and have to say we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff, everyone of them, from chambermaid to reception, restaurant and bar were all exremely courteous, friendly and all very professional. The breakfast was great, as was our dinner in the Conall Cearnach Restaurant. Didn;t get time to try out the leisure centre or spa...but next time hopefully. Justiry to say, we will definitely be back for another visit.

	Couldn't find any fault. Was there for a wedding and it was the best wedding meal I have ever eaten along with the best service I have ever experienced. Our room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. A terrific experience!

	We would have preferred a room with a view, a room on an upper floor. Ground floor level rooms are not favourable. The breakfasts and dinner were excellent as was the service. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the room and surrounding grounds of the hotel are gorgeous and we would recommend it to friends and hopefully return for another stay in the near future. Many thanks.

Generally an excellent few days and the golf course was magnificent. However, one sour note was the price I paid for my golf partner's non-alcoholic drink. The golf club bar did not have any of the many alcohol free beers commonly found in golf clubs to meet the needs of the "designated drivers" and help keep the roads safe, so my friend chose a "Rock Shandy", a bottle of Club Orange and a bottle of Club Lemon in a pint glass. Price was E 8.90, more than twice the price of my pint of Guinness on which there is excise duty. I questioned the price as did a club member who was present but we were told that is the price the register clocks-up. A "Rock Shandy" in the hotel bar was E 5.60. (price of 2 splits @ 2.80 each). How can you justify this kind of pricing policy? Derek Clements

	I was attending a wedding at the Slieve Russell and i was very impressed with the hotel. The food was beautiful and as a venue for a wedding i would rate it very highly. The room we were staying in was quite small but as we were only there for a few hours it didnt really matter.

	Stayed for 1 night over the June bank holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the break. Meal was lovely in the Setanta restaurant on the Sunday night and the breakfast was great. Impressed with the room size and bathroom which is always important. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Will return for another stay at a later date

The hotel stay was great. Great location and golf coarse. Service was good ,and enjoyed the food. Management were very helpful with the special situation our group was involved in. One point,when someone is at the golf desk to pay then going to the practice range be sure the staff informs the client that the golf ball dispensing machine only accepts 2euro coins. I was not told this and it was a long walk back and time would be short so I did not get to practice before my golf round.

we had two fantastic days in the hotel,the rooms were beutiful.it was well worth the money we paid.food and service was excellient.i work on a golf course in dublin and the gardens and course is one of the bestiv ever seen.although i did pay 11 euro for two cokes for my girlfriend who doesnt drink which was the only bad thing i can find to say.all in all two great nights in a world class hotel and i look forward to coming back in the future

Booked a spa sensation package for both myself and wife for our anniversary and we were certainly not disappointed. From the lovely spa treatment to the delicious meal in the restaurant that evening , everything was excellent. Our only regret leaving the next morning was not getting the opportunity to explore the beautiful estate, which we will definitely return to do in the near future. Overall lovely hotel in splendid grounds and worth a visit.

I have been to the Slieve Russell before but I was wondering how the change in the economy had effected the overall service in the hotel. I need not have worried! Everything about the SR was perfect. There was nothing I could find fault with. The food in both restaurents was excellent and reasonably priced. Our room was "superior" in every way and of course the staff were top class - friendly and obliging. My only issue was that my golf score did not match up. But that's another story. 	The holtel is full of old fashioned charm and very pleasant the surroundings are great. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are well appointed. Room is not overly large but it is more than adequate. Tea and coffee making facilities are included in the room which is great. Lack of air conditioning in room could be an issue but in general would not be a problem for an irish hotel.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly from the moment you walk in the door until you leave. For our family of 4 there were 2 double beds in the room and a single roll away bed and there was still plenty of room. The kids club gives parents a break and never ceases to amaze me from make a slieve russell alien, to making rice krispie buns the kids are always entertained, so much so that they don't want to leave the hotel for sightseeing. The grounds are immaculate and there a beautiful walks for those who prefer the outdoor to the fully equipped gym inside. A great stay for all. We cannot wait to return.

This is a first class hotel in a beautiful quiet setting. The staff are very professional and yet extremely friendly and the facilities at the hotel (inc. rooms, the leisure club & spa) are excellent. The quality of the food was very impressive, and while ours was a short break on this occasion, we had a wonderful relaxing time - we're already planning a longer break in July! 	Stayed for the 2 night B&B with 1 dinner. Room was very spacious and clean. Bed was big and comfortable. The food for both the breakfast and dinner was excellant. Service was also very good. Thermal suite was a bit of a let down. My partner had a treatment and this was excellant. The bar was busy on both nights and there was a good buzz around. All in all, a very enjoyable weekend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the hotel. the friendly atmosphere in the hotel made you relax almost at once. Every area of the hotel was extremly clean and presentable and we really enjoyed the country club pool and the pathways round the golf course with there beautiful veiws over the country side. We have already told our friends and family about the great stay we had and hope to be back sometime soon

During our stay we stayed in room 546 when we got to the room it was so far from the reception Area, as I am pregnant it was a very long distance to walk, and carrying my bags to the room. There was nobody to help me with my bags. I asked to be moved to a room closer to reception but was told that there was a very big check in and they were unable to move me. I couldn't believe it. So from that my stay was not enjoyable. Food was lovely, n the room very comfortable but it ruined my stay having to walk so far, that I had to take it easy that eve as I'm 6 mths gone n my ankles were swollen.

The room was small. There was a very annoying noise coming from fans apparently during the evening. The duty manager, (Breda?), was very helpful and polite and sorted the noise very quickly when we complained. I don't eat dessert and when I asked for cheese instead I was told that there wasn't any. We found it surprising that a hotel of your rating couldn't provide this. Generally the stay was very pleasant

We found the Slieve Russell Hotel Golf and Country Club very relaxing and very comfortable. The Staff were excellent and the Bar Service and wide range of menue was also excellent. The Lounges were very relaxing and comfortable. Leisure facilities and Staff were excellent. The food in the Restaurant was excellent with a very good variety. The Garden Walks was excellent and relaxing. This was our first visit for a relaxing weekend of which we certainly enjoyed and it will not be our last. We will be letting all our friends know of our find.

	The spa was brilliant. Thoroughyl reccomend it. The hotel staff were really friendly too but the food lets this place down with a bang. Couldn't even get the slieve russell ham sandwich right. I would have rated 5 if not for the food.

slieve ruaael is a lovely hotel. went for a wkend with my partner and really enjoyed our stay. The girl at check in was very friendly and helpful, we had superior room, it was great and a spacious bathroom with seperate shower and bath. breakfast and dinner was included in our rate, food was laways good, and yet again helpful satff. Also visited the hydrotherapy suite at the sap, it was brilliant very relaxing and also enjoyed a hot stone massage. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends.

	Hotel is fab, staff very pleasant, got upgraded to a deluxe room. Lovely open fires throughout. Spa very nice too. Restaurant food very nice and great variety of choices and lovely presentation. Only downside same wine different price in the two different restaurants. Would highly recommend hotel.

	I recently spend an overnight with dinner in the Slieve Russel and I can assure anyone thinking of staying here that they will not be dissapointed. It exceeded my expectation in all area,s. 	Hotel is beautiful as is the grounds. the breakfast was also very good.Disappointed with room as we felt it was small compared with other hotels we have stayed in at a cheaper rate.How do you decide on who gets upgraded as my sister and mother did as did two couples when i was waiting in the queque.

MY STAY AT THE SLIEVE RUSSELL WAS FINE, ALL I WOULD SAY IS THAT THE INTERIOR IS A LITTLE DATED, AND THERE WAS A LARGE DIRTY WET STAIN ON THE CARPET, WHICH POSSIBLY COULDN'T BE HELPED. THERE WERE ONLY ENOUGH TOILETRIES FOR ONE PERSON WHEN QUITE CLEARLY THERE WAS GOING TO BE TWO PERSONS SHARING THE ROOM, AND I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THE MINIBAR TO HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE WHEN IT STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE ONE IN THE ROOM, SURELY THATS A MISSED OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A FEW EXTRA EUROS !! WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO A FRIEND ?? YES, BUT WITH A FEW RESERVATIONS.

Hi There, The only thing that lets the hotel down is the food. The kells bar menu was pretty poor really. More variety needed and more options for sandwich fillings. Plain chicken or plain ham is pretty dyer in this day and age. The setanta restaurant wasn't the best either. Your lasagne (the safe option) had no white sauce and couldn't be eaten. Plus it had carrots which wasn't stated on the menu. The steak for some reason came with tomatoes on top which totally ruined the flavour. Oh and would it be hard to make a few real chips rather than cheap frozen ones? Other than the food, the leisure facilities were not that leisurely with the amount of children. So we avoided that. Room was excellent and the relaxing rooms throughout the hotel were great. One recommendation though, The place could do with a map as its so big and kind of confusing where everything was. Esecially for older guests. Thanks and best wishes.

	Very impressed withthe hotel..we were staying for the Connolly/Bentley wedding and had no complaints only that I never used the spa facilities which was my own fault!! :-( The food served for the wedding was just superb..well done to all :-)

	Food and wine excellent in the restaurant and it was very special to have a live pianist arrive. However classical music would have fitted in much better rather than 'popular music' from the 80s and 90s, which made the experience quite elevator-like. Room and bathroom lovely, but shower was cold.

I am a coeliac and assumed that all restaurant staff would be well-informed about this condition and the dangers of cross-contamination. However, on the first morning, I told the lady who was serving that I was a coeliac and asked for a gluten free breakfast. I was astonished when she started to serve my breakfast from the food on the hot buffet, leaving out only the bread and using the same serving utensils that had been used for the rest of the food. I had to explain to her, in front of everyone else in the queue that I could not eat it but needed to have my food prepared separately from other food with clean utensils used because of the danger of cross contamination. This made me feel very embarassed because I felt I was causing a lot of trouble for staff and being 'picky' and fussy for no reason. I did get my breakfast but it took a very long time and my husband was waiting with me so we were both very hungry when the food eventually came. Unfortunately, things didn't improve the following morning, in fact the situation was worse because I had to try to explain to a foreign waiter what my needs were as there was no-one else available at the time. I was also surprised that there were no gluten free sausages available as they are easily found in most supermarkets. If I was rating the breakfast alone, unfortunately it would score 0. My rating is taking into account the rest of our stay.

We were very impressed with the high standards at the Slieve Russell Hotel. The extreme cleanliness of everywhere (room, corridors, restrauants, reception) was very noticeable which we feel is worthy of praise. The room (No 647) was very spacious and to a very high standard. The staff were very friendly and that includes everybody! This was our first time to stay at the SR but we most definitely will return again in 2011. Thank you for a very enjoyable short stay. 	We had a lovely stay at your hotel during November 2010. Our room was well maintained and the food excellent. Even when the hotel was very busy on the Sunday morning, the hotel put on extra tables so that we did not have to wait any extra time for breakfast. Have recommended this to our friends. The only thing we were disappointed with is your Bar menu. We just felt that arriving down on a very busy Sat evening as we did and unable to get into one of the restaurants we could only get soup and sandwiches/paninis, which to be honest is not very satisfactory. We also couldnt even get a plate of chips with our sandwiches which does not seem right considering they being cooked in your 2 restaurants. Your bar menu really needs to be changes

	I thought of an idea whilst on holiday at your hotel. I found the children got a little bored of being with the adults in the evening time. Perhaps you should have a movie night for kids. eg. 8pm-10pm a pre-selected movie is shown to all kids there in the games room.

The bedroom facilities were comfortable and spa nice although it could benefit from better sound proofing between treatment rooms. However we attended a wedding at the hotel and whilst the hotel ran the wedding itself well, it was thoroughly unacceptable to have the bride and groom's bedroom burgled whilst they were at their wedding reception. The information about what bedroom they were in, when their reception was on and what dress code was involved would certainly seem in implicate hotel staff. It was a very upsetting experience for the bride and groom and for the guests who had given them gifts which were lost. I would not be recommending this hotel for other functions or weddings if this is likely to happen.

	In a word, Fantastic. We stayed in an Exec Suite which was amazing. Extremely comfortable and spacious. Dining in the hotel was a very welcoming experience and above all, and something I feel is very important, is the staff. They were the most warm, welcoming and helpful hotel staff I have ever met. Looking forward to staying in the hotel again, and this time using the Health Spa facilities.

Booked midweek one night only and upon checkin we were upgraded to superior room, and boy was it! Huge bed, huge spotless bathroom and beautiful views over the golf course. Had dinner in Setanta, it was lovely, service excellent. Breakfast next morning first class, again excellent service. We have stayed before at this hotel and have never been disappointed, would recommend highly, can't wait to go back!!

We enjoyed our stay in the Slieve Russell, beautiful hotel, the location and grounds are exceptional and well maintained. Staff throughout were very pleasant and friendly. We would have found our stay exceptional except that we thought the temperature in the bedroom was two or three degrees too high, I tried adjusting the thermostat but it didn't have any effect. Similarly I thought the water temperature in the swimming pool was a degree or two too high for my liking.

	I've stayed a number of times at the Slieve Russell but the one thing that prevents me from giving top marks is the hidden charge to use the hydrotherapy area. The other hotel I stay at regularly in the area is Farnham estate and the spa is included in the overall cost. The staff during each of our stays were fantastic and the rooms very spacious - I haven't stayed in a standard room to date.

In our opinion Slieve Russell continues to be a class destination. The drive from Bray is motorway til you are "nearly there". When you go through the gates you know you are in a resort. From check in to check out was for us an experience in what hospitality is all about. We have been there 3 times in the past 7 years and the great standards we experienced then have been maintained there.Food and drink are as good as ever, we are golfers and I have played quite a few courses in Ireland this year, and Slieve Russell when we were there was in the best condition bar none!We will be back for sure.

	This was our third visit to the Slieve Russell Hotel and again ,I wasnt disappointed. We stayed two nights with one evening meal included in a very reasonable priced package. The food as usually was exquisite and all the staff were extremely friendly.My only criticism is on our second night we were awaken around 5 am by loud music and shouting coming from the room next door.

My wife and I stayed for one night on a special offer. Our first surprise was when our room was upgraded to a suite. We had a lovely walk in the expertly maintained gardens and followed the walk around the grounds for a half an hour using the guide notes from reception. We found the pool was very relaxing and our meal that evening was simply delicious. All this time the staff were very friendly and catered for us with attention and care. I played golf the following morning. It's a great course while my wife had a treatment in the spa. We left after lunch in the golf club. We can't speak highly enough of our stay. We really enjoyed it and based on my experiences I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Slieve Russell to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out staff members were attentive, polite and enthusiastic. Our requests were always met with a 'can do' attitude. On check in we were given the room directly over the front door. I'm not sure was this because I had booked our room online. We were on a package of 302.00 for two nights bed & breakfast. We had booked in to attend a friend's wedding which might also have been an assumption that we wouldnt mind the noise level from the front door activity. I'm 6 months pregnant and was looking forward to a relaxing stay. First impressions of the room, room 107, absolutely tiny and very dull. (not worth the room rate we were paying). After a terrible nights sleep and being awake for several hours with noise from front door I spoke with a lovely receptionist who moved us very promptly to room 541. Obviously the difference in rooms was incredible not to mention the quiet. Receptionist name started with a P i think, she also has a small baby (sorry cant remember her name). Main point to note the rooms at the front of the hotel are not the same and therefore should be much cheaper overall. Food was great. Really enjoyed 2nd night.

Our experience with the slieve russell was outstanding. We held our wedding there and from start to finish, it was flawless. From the manager we had on the day to the food (which every guest commented on), service and requests - everything was carried out immediatly, with no fuss and a high level of professionalism. The room we were given was much smaller than the one we stayed in previously, during a two might break last October. No iron in the room and no air conditioning was also disappointing. There were a LOT of wasps around over the three nights we stayed. (we extended our stay to avail of the spa). The hotel overall was comfortable. The dinner we had two nights was very enjoyable, however the breakfast room we found to be crowded and busy: joining a long queue to collect a hot breakfast did not seem relaxing at all. Alot of the time we found the hotel very warm - in the breakfast room, both restaurants both nights and in the relaxation suite in the spa. A little air conditioning would have been nice.

My wife myself and our two children aged 9 and 16 had a most wonderful stay at this top class hotel. All the staff from the ladies making the beds to the manager are all friendly and most helpful, questions were answered straight away and any request was was fulfilled with a friendly smile. The food is to die for and I think for the quality ans service reasonably priced. We used the hotel as a base for touring the area which is stunning. A most enjoyable experience, we will be back.

The stay was beautiful and the spa was the most amazing thing I have ever been to the staff were great and helpful and there was refreshments and pieces of fruit around that you could eat while either relaxing or waiting for treatment. The food in Satanta restaurant was delicious and the service was really friendly, breakfast was presented great and had a large number of options to choose from at the buffet with both cold and hot meals. The only down side was that there was a large spider on our bathroom ceiling.

Rooms Food and Service were all very good (I did not use Leisure facilities, I was a wedding guest). Notwithtanding the excellent facilities, price was more than I would have expected in these recessionary times. 	myself and my wife had a really nice stay at the slieve russell. We used the country club facilities which were great. We both enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant and then went for a walk in the very well maintained gardens. The only minor issue that arose was the winter duvet on the bed was to warm. We had a lovely stay and will go back again.

My wife and I were extrememly dissatisfied with our stay at Slieve Russell Hotel. We had booked a Superior room as we were on our honeymoon and was down graded to a family suite as we were bringing our 4month old daughter with us. The Family suite that we were giving was dirty and had drawing markings all over the walls.This was not a room we were expecting to spend our honeymoon in. 	I were very impresed with both the friendly staff and the high standard of service. I had never stayed overnight before and was very impressed with the room. I used the Spa area which was top class and then had a very good breakfast. I certainly will return this summer to play the golf course.

I have stayed many times before. always loved it there. there was no hot water in our room the next morning. whilst checking out the receptionist suggested that we did not turn the knob properly (this is felt like i was being told i was stupid) ... we did many times try everything. Then was advised that we should have phoned down to reception at the time. we were in a hurry to check out, so didnt really have that option. other than that it was a wonderful day/night.

	Very impressed with the cleanliness and high maintenance of hotel and grounds. Food was very good EXCEPT for a ham and cheese sandwich which we ordered on arrival midday Sunday - PROCESSED CHEESE - UGH ! Sandwiches after Wedding Reception were excellent.

Thought the upfront payment for room via cash a bit surprising. Felt as if the presumption was that we might climb down the drainpipe and not pay our bill in the morning. Also, the demand was also made before the room was even viewed, which is not normally the routine. Finally, while the girls on reception are quite friendly, two of them were hard to understand due to accents. Would have been nicer to hear local voices.

It has been twenty years since I stayed at the Slieve Russell Hotel. I stayed there the first year it opened. The hotel seting and service were very good. We enjoyed a very pleasant walk around the grounds in magnificent weather. Also, some quiets moments of reflection in the secret garden. Regarding value for money, it could be considered relatively poor but this is known at the time of booking. The relatively high cost raises expectations and then to be asked to pay 3.5 euros for a swimming pool cap when the pool facilities are included is ridiculous. Some attention to minor maintenance on the walkway from the hotel to the garden is required. The overhead lights on the walkway do not appear to work.

THe shower went from extreme heat to extreme cold which was uncomfortable. The service was excellent however both myself and my sister in law were disappointed that we did not get to experience the relaxation suite in the Spa as we only spent £90 in Cuin spa. I think for guests staying in the hotel use of the relaxation room for treatments should be included. It was however a very enjoyable stay.

when making the booking i was informed the swimming pool was not available,,, i was offered use of the SPA which was valued at 30 Euro...I asked for an upgrade, neither mw wife or myself wanted to use the Spa at that time...I have no problem with that except when we arrived we were told the pool was reopening ...I feel that if the pool was that close to reopening i feel we might have been advised of the possibility of same. Bed was very comfortable ,however may i suggest that guests might be advised of the availability of blankets as the duvet was far to warm,,, (maybe a plus point to some ?) On the whole it was a pleasing weekend...Entertainment was good...not too loud. Hoping you find this comment useful....

We found the hotel lived up to our expectations. Lovely, comfortable room, good food, lively bar, beautiful surroundings, lots to do (even for non-golfers!). The pool was being serviced during our stay and we missed that amenity -tho I know that the Spa was available. Above all, the hotel staff are very friendly and do everything to ensure that guests have a good experience. 	Stay was excellent as usual. Staff's level of service was inpecable. The food in the restaurant was first rate, and the hotel is very well kept. The only negative point, was that the shower in our suite was not very clean. As we were only staying the one night, it was not too much of an inconvenience. Other than that, a fantastic stay....

My partner and I stayed at the Slieve Russell Hotel Golf and Country Club for one night. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and inviting and the ensuite bathroom was very bright and spacious. We dined in the Setanta Restaurant and the food was divine. It was a Saturday night so there was entertainment in the bar. We found all the staff very polite and they were only delighted to help make our stay with them so much more enjoyable. We will definately go back in the future. Its a very beautiful hotel but its the staff that really made it a place worth going back to

our stay in the Slieve Russell was wonderful overall the staff were friendly and helpful esspecially the staff in the Country club gym and swimming pool area The spa was beautiful and the staff were pleasant I found the treatments to be expensive compared to other spas that I have been too. The room was lovely and kept to the highest standard The only little problem was our food orders in the restuarant for our breakfast and evening meal were wrong when they arrived at our table three times though the staff were pleasant here too at all times the lady serving in the golf club was really pleasant

The one minor gripe I had was the room service charge .It was €7 per person while a room charge would have been a fairer charge of €7 .Other than that you could not fault it .Form the front of house .to the restaurants ,the bar ,the Spa a great experience.All staff were very friendly . 	Food and accommodation excellent. It would be helpful if there was an adult only time for using the pool as it becomes very busy with kids. If you want to swim there is a small segregated lane but this did not seems to deter use by children and was not enforced by supervisory staff. 	I recently stayed at Slieve Russell on a Spa weekend with my sister...it was fabulous! From check-in to the spa and dinner to check-out it was the perfect break for a bit of R&R! looking forward to our next break in this lovely hotel!

	Lovely stay at the Slieve Russell. Hotel very welcoming, great service provided by all staff. Dinner and breakfast could not be faulted. Room very clean and tidy. Did have problem when checked out - hotel reserved over 300 euro on credit card then put through separate transaction when checked out. Still waiting on 300 euro to be put back on the card. Not impressed with that.

My stay at the Slieve Russell Hotel was very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful even when at their busiest. The rooms were spacious, well serviced each day, tastefully decorated and various amentities were provided. The views both outside the front of the hotel and the extensive area at the rear of the hotel (including golf course) are beautiful and create a very peaceful atmosphere to stay in. I hope to stay at the Slieve Russell again in the future. Thank you.

We stayed two nights at the Slieve Russell following my daughter's wedding reception which was held in the hotel. The accommodation, food and service were excellent both at the wedding reception and as guests of the hotel afterwards. Top marks to the staff of the Slieve Russell for making it such a pleasant place to stay. I would highly recommend this hotel as an ideal venue for a wedding reception or just a luxurious weekend break.

most enjoyable stay overall. room very spacious, staff excellent. would have like an alternative to the two restaurants, really enjoyed the fine dining experience on the friday night, and we tried the more casual restaurant the next night, but I found the price was more or less the same for the two nights, would have liked a more relaxed menu, with pizza/pasta for the more money stretched guest on the second night. I also feel the spa/beauty salon is overpriced. If there were more specials for this I would have treated myself.

	Nice room and pleasant staff. While the hotel has the look of a 4+ star hotel and a price to match, it is very much a 2/3 star hotel in terms of overall quality i.e. the breakfast service was very average and the bar service felt like a local bar.In comparison to the Radisson in Galway, this is a very average hotel.

Yes, our stay at the Slieve Russell was fantastic. The staff at Reception upgraded our room for us when they found out it was our 10th Wedding Anniversary - a lovely bonus for us!! All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent as well as the leisure facilities. The only thing we were not too impressed with was the extortionate price of the swimming caps - 3.50 euros each!!!!!

	I have stayed in the Slieve Russell many times and it never failes to live up to expectations, on arrival our room was upgraded to a luxury suite which was a nice suprise, even though the hotel was very busy the high standards are never let down, the food was first class both in the lobby and in the restaurant. I had the nicest chicken wrap that I ever tasted in the lobby.

	I was very disappointed to find the Main Restaurant Cloesed for Dinner as this was one of the main reason for staying. When people are booking for your special short stays, they should be informed that the retaurant will be colsed on certain nights.

I was really looking forward to my stay in the slieve russell but when we got there our room was so dissapointing it was extremely small and we had a view of a glass roof. we were there for a wedding and decided to make a weekend out of it but our first night was depressing we asked to be moved but they had no rooms until the next night. We also had to pay upfront when we got there which we never had to do in other hotels and when we went for lunch on our first day we ordered our food but also had to pay before the food arrived.We got the impression they thought we were going to do a runner. The surroundings are beautiful and our room the second night was lovely but for the money we paid we would have liked that room for both nights. I don't think either of us will be going back especially as people we met stayed in the B&B beside the hotel for much cheaper and had a lovely experience.

	Nicest Part - Excellent food for dinner and Sunday lunch. Spacious room was appreciated also. Biggest Dissapointment - Forced to shut all the curtains in the room due to being overlooked by the other "wing" of the hotel - therefore, no natural light entered the room, which is a big minus in my book. Breakfast and room order food were well below my expectations also.

	Superb Hotel, My room was immaculate and Huge! only had a single and you could have got 10 people in there. Food and service in the resteraunt was very good i would recommend the lamb. 	A very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Breakfast was very chaotic-no tea or coffee served and toast actually arrived after our breakfast plates had been removed. It's a very large dining room and seems difficult to keep attending to all patrons-there were a few guests asking for teas and requesting toast. Staff were friendly and obliged but were seriously understafffed morning of 1 March 2009.

staff were extremely friendly and helpful.....always were busy. The hotel was spotless. The water in the pool could do with updating....or else it had too much chlorine. Spa staff that i met were very good at their job....gave an excellent consulation on the facial I was about to receive and also gave a thorough follow up. Concierge was very informative and helpful. Golf course was in excellent condition and great value...?25 if you are staying at the hotel

The resturant for our evening meal was too brightly lite and the meal which was very well presented actually was nearly cold.There was also an annoying piano player who didn't really know any tunes. 	The hotel its grounds and location were wonderful. Little disappointed with service in dining room. Entered at 9pm last sitting and found service very slow. Waiting staff need more training as they did not have clear knowledge of menu. Wine waiter poured wine into water glass. Noticeable lack of management in dining room. Otherwise rest of hotel very pleasing. Would love to return.

When booking the Slieve Russell we were looking for a peaceful, relaxing winter break, with good food and comfortable surrundings. We found the hotel offered this and much more. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and very quiet. Staff were pleasant and approachable without exception. We ate in both restaurants and found the food to be of a very high standard. I would highly reccommend this hotel. We made use of the spa and pool and found both to be excellent.

	The staff from reception to the casual restaurant were friendly, helpful and attentive. My suite was well laid out, spacious and very comfortable.The food was imaginative, large portions and staff always to the hand. They worked well as a team and were well led by the lady front of house who was very professional. clearly some good training goes on in this hotel.

	exellent hotel, its stunning beautiful at nite with the fountain lite up. suite was gorgeous, staff were friendly. we even over slept for breakfast but the staff still organised a breakfast. evening meal was fab.cant wait to go again.

	I found my stay most enjoyable. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere, staff were very helpful and our room was very comfortable. A special feature to enjoy are the lovely grounds, a great place to walk and enjoy the lovely shrubbery

	This hotel has definitely lived up to its reputation for 4 star standard. Room service was excellent. Every member of staff from our Check in through to check out were extremely friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work! Will definitely be back.

Had problems with in room movies but reception sorted this fairly quickly. The water machine in the pool area wasn't working throughout our time at the hotel. There were also only 4 pool loungers for the whole hotel and one of these was broken.The room was smaller than expected but comfortable and clean. The spa was expensive but lovely! Overall, the hotel was really nice and we enjoyed our stay, however for the price I would've expected a better standard.

	I staeyed with my 3 children in a family room overloking a courtyard garden .The accommodation was excellant as was the breakfast selection.In the summer months its great for families as it has a kids club until 10pm which also coveres an early tea for kids.It has brilliant leisure facilities,gardens and tenis courts.Although a bit overpriced I would highly recommend a stay.
