Hostel seemed pretty empty. We were in an 8 person room but it was just the 2 of us, not complaining but it would have been nice to meet other people. Showers were small and disgusting.

Lo primero, pedimos una habitación de 8 personas y nos pusieron en una de 4.
La limpieza.. brillaba por su ausencia, y sobre todo, el ruido que habia. Los empleados cuando pasaban a limpiar las habitaciones, entraban sin llamar, y gritaban por todos los pasillos, por lo que no te dejaban descansar.

It was rubbish. At first the hostel emailed me to tell me that they were fully booked so I could stay at one of their other ones. When I got there the guy on reception told me they had overbooked but there were another 5 people in the same situation so they were overbooking on purpose. I did not stay at either hostel in the end and am still waiting for a full refund but they have not replied to my emails.

Very enjoyable, nice location, not the cleanest but that didn't bother me. Bit confused as the sign outside said the name of a different hotel. But well recommeded.

Your satisfaction will very much depend on which floor you end up. We stayed on the third floor, where everything has been recently reconstructed - brand new bathroom and kitchen. The second floor is, however, in worse shape. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hostel's location is great, everything is within walking distance. Meagre breakfast included in the price, but hey, food is food. The beds are, however, plain awful, the slightest movement causes them to creak insanely. So sitting down on them or moving in them is not recommended, it will wake you and all your roommates. Internet was available but rather costly (50 cents/15minutes). Overall: if you're looking for a practical location to lay down your head, it's a good hostel. If you're looking for a "home" with all the amenities this may not be your dream stay.

Expected to havea room with eight beds. Ended up getting a bed with 10 beds and 3 strange men sleeping with 8 ladies in the same room - it was horrible.

No recomiendo a nadie que haga una reserva en este hostal, son unos impresentables por no decir otra cosa. Yo y un grupo de amigos llegados a Barcelona a la 1:30 a.m. con una reserva al hostal y nos dijeron que habia overbooking y que nos buscaramos la vida, me devuelven la fianza y ya esta. A los 2 días y solo porque amenazamos con presentar una reclamación a la oficina de turismo se dignaron a pagar la diferencia de dinero del hostal al que tuvimos que ir y el dinero del taxi (que nose si todo el mundo sabra que por ley estan obligados hacerlo) Y ya por último nos enteramos que por lo visto esto lo suelen hacer mucho que no es casualidad que nos pasara a nosotros. Además de todo esto era un sitio realmente cutre y eso que en Praga estuve en un hostal bastante malo, que no me quejo así como así... En fin que si te quieres ahorrar un disgusto evita este hostal y otro hostal llamado Hostal Maritimo (que creo que pertenece a la misma persona)

En la pagina web dice que hay calefacción y no es así. En las habitaciones de 8 hay una cama más, es decir 9 camas, en la que duerme un trabajador del hotel, y de esto no se informó previamente al cliente. cuando pedimos las hojas de reclamación no disponían de ellas.

No se lo recomiendo a nadie, muy descuidado, con humedad, la manta no estaba limpia (con varios pelos sospechosos y mios no eran),mas vale gastarse 10 euros más e ir a otro en mejores condiciones. reserve 4 dias y me quede la primera noche porq llegue a las 2de la madrugada, porq si no ni me hubiera quedado.NO VAYAN

Eccellente posizione, ma .....preparatevi al peggio, la pulizia è inesistente, inoltre ho prenotato una camera con bagno privato in camera e ci siamo ritrovati con un bagno comune in un andito e per giunta senza chiave o chiavistello...... ci siam dovuti armare di guanti e disinfettante per poterlo usare.... Inoltre quanto siamo arrivati all'indirizzo dell'albergo, abbiamo scoperto che aveva un nome diverso rispetto a quello che risultava dalla prenotazione. La colazione poi è indescrivibile, ma non fermatevi al bar sotto l'albergo, il colletto è assicurato!!!

hicimos la reserva un mes antes, 10 dias antes llamamos para confirmarla y el dia antes de salir nos llaman para decirnos que no nos pueden ofrecer la habitacion que habiamos reservado y como solucion nos dieron una habitacion sin calefaccion y toda sucia. Se ve que el hostal esta de reformas y puede que dentro de unos años sea el mejor de barcelona... pero mientras NO os lo recomiendo en absoluto

It is useless now to comment on this subject. Still, here are my brief comments: overbooking, they don't respect the reservations, crappy tiny rooms, looooottttt of noise, door lock almost missing...Just don't even think about booking this hostel, better prices and conditions in Placa Reial!!!!

la habitacion del hostal fatal, tercermundista, dos literas de 80 cm.sin armario, reclame ya que no estaba conforme, pues el pago por esta habitacion por una noche fue de 78? y me cambiaron a una habitacion de dos camas en una casa particular, cuyos colchones eran d espuma y el somier de alambre y no pudimos dormir en toda la noche, menos mal que solo fue una noche, no se lo recomiendo a gente de mediana edad, el hostal solo es para gente joven que les da lo mismo dormir o no.

Perfect place to stay with friends if what you're looking for is cheap and perfectly located accommodation. Rooms for 8 are rather small and it can be a bit noisy sometimes. However, the hostel is very neat and tidy and breakfast is also fine. I recommend it.

Walked past entrance 3 times as hostel nameplate is not easy to see...total confusion at check in...grubby personel
took us up to the room which was still accupied at 12.30PM which was when the room was supposed to be ready for us...
the room smelled , it had bunk beds although the room we had booked had 3 real beds...the lift /elevator was broken
and looked as though this was not an overnight happening...we refused to stay and left disgusted with whole affair.

The location is brilliant, the 10 bed dorm can be a bit noisy but thats expected. Breakfast included and you can have it on the balcony. Overall loved it and will stay there again.

When we arrived to the hostel, the staff had lost our booking. Our beds were assigned to other people. The main door and the shared rooms have not key,they are open all day. Anyone can enter!!
Location and breakfast are good. But is better to book a private room.

The hostel is dirty, loud and absolutely unorganised.
We booked for 12 persons and there was no sign of our booking when we arrived. After couple of hours we finally got beds, but some of them were occupied when we came to sleep! All the customers seem to have troubles there! The staff is very unfriendly. You'd better sleep in the streets!

Reservamos una habitacion doble con baño y cuando llegamos nos dijeron que habia overbooking. nos pusieron en una mini habitacion con 2 literas, sin ventana ni baño y con salida a un dormitorio comun con 12 camas, con lo que nunca se ventilaba. el baño comun.

The 8-bed room should have had a maximum of 6 beds (My bed was pushed up against my snoring neighbor. Our door didn't shut right and you could hear people in the hallways the whole night.

Cuando llegué la primera impresión no fue buena, pero reconozco que al final estuvo mejor de lo que pensaba. De todas maneras al convivir tanta gente los baños están bastante dejados (sobre todo las puertas) y hay mucho ruido casi en todo momento lo cual a veces dificulta el dormir. Por lo demás me me gustó más de lo que pensaba: las habitaciones bastante limpias, las sábanas muy limpias, los desayunos estaban bastante bien y la cocina muy limpia, la ubicación del hostal es una gozada y el precio en habitaciones compartidas está de lujo, aunque como ya he dicho tiene algun inconveniente.

Shared bathroom had door connected to our room so we could hear everything. 3 bed room was just a square room about 2,5 by 2,5m with 2 bunk beds, no furniture. Breakfest really poor.

Not bad, and for that price you can´t expect anything special. Great location, you can reach Plaza Catalunya in 10 minutes. Accomodation fine, however some of the rooms are extremely small and if you are not coming in the hotest summer bring some warmer clothes for sleeping as there is no heating. It is great you can use the kitchen and make your own food. And I really liked the breakfast. Yeah, and don´t be scared if you don´t get a key, nobody lockes the rooms there but we didn´t have any problems with it. So, if you want to spend few days in Barcelona you can surely choose this hostel (especially if you are young and don´t care to leave your things under the bed ;) ).

The hostel was located in a very central location which is ideal for exploring the city, requested an en suite double room which we were informed was unavailable only when shown to the room (however given a minimal 15% discount when challenged staff), the rooms are grubby, very noisy and there was no sockets. The only positive feature was location, I would only choose this accomodation again as a very last resort. The hostel is fine but much too expensive for what you get.
