My girlfriend and myself recently stayed at this lovely hotel, located just a short drive outside of Girvan. Our decision to stay here was based on previous TripAdviser reviews, and we were not disappointed. The room was huge, with king size bed, TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was very modern with a huge shower. The hotel restaurant and bar are well worth a visit. The food is amazing. Served and presented to a very high standard. The staff are all very friendly and they cannot do enough to help you. We asked about the cost of a taxi from the hotel to a village pub in Kirkoswald. The lady in the bar called a taxi firm, enquired about the price, and made a reservation for us. Small gestures like this and going the extra mile for customers makes this hotel a great place to stay. We paid a little extra for a room with a sea view and waking up every morning to the sea was fantastic. The hotel is located in a great position for exploring south west coast of Scotland. A great family run hotel. Highly recommended!

We stayed 4 nights in Aug 2011 and were very pleased with the accommodation. The room was much larger than standard hotel rooms and the location was excellent for hill walking and beach combing. We found the new restaurant very good in terms of service and food quality, though the menu was fairly limited. Breakfast was also very good though the service for that could be a bit quicker. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will be back.

	I was really pleased with my stay. The rooms were great and up to date, king size bed even though I booked a single. Free wifi and lovely new restaurant and bar. Breakfasts in the coffee shop were fantastic with local produce, Road noise is a bit intrusive but view is well worth that. Sea is literally over the road from hotel, fantastic views.

	Excellent Accomodation and well appointed. Friendly and efficient staff. The food was wonderful both Dinner and Breakfast were absolutely lovely. Working in the Travel Industry makes you very objective as reviewing is all part of the job. Woodland Bay was just fantastic, we would happily return and recommend this to everyone.

	When I booked the woodlands everything looked good on the internet but after our stay the internet does not show you the warm hospitality, excellent accomadation, fine food and just a great atmosphere all round and the staff make you feel so relaxed,will recommend the woodland bay to everyone.

	Excellent service from arrival to departure, i can highly recommend this hotel, the rooms are very clean and spacious, the breakfast was worth the money itself, evening meals are very good and not over priced, book and enjoy, i will certainly be going back when next up in that area

	Room excellent and couldn't be faulted. Superb wet room. Spacious accomodatiuon throughout with all modern fittings.Would have preferred room only terms as would have liked to have eaten breakfast and/or left earlier.

From the warm welcome to the final departure, the accomadation and staff never fail to impress. the refurbishment in the restaurant with the new evening menu was a pleasant surprise on this, our third visit. Woodland Bay must be one of Ayrshire's best kept secrets and I recommend a visit to the restaurant at both ends of the day. Our visits include stocking uo our freezer, as well as other goodies from the shop. As you leave Girvan a sign states " Haste Ye Back " and we will.

We only stayed at the hotel one night but will be staying again. It is quiet yet personal and the room was really lovely. The fact it was in a working farm really added to the atmosphere and feeling of being on holiday. The breakfast in the morning was very good and the service was friendly and pleasant without being pushy. The room and eating area were both clean and tidy and the decor was modern and fresh.

	I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were 5 star and the meals excellent. It would add to the experience if an evening meal was available but I understand that it is early days and this may happen in the future. I would certainly chose to stay at this hotel again.

	My husband and I had a fantastic time at Woodland Bay Hotel. The staff where extremely friendly and helpful and the accomodation was faultess. The food in the coffee shop was delicious and it was just a shame that it was not possible to eat there in the evenings but the staff where great in recommending local places to eat and arranging taxis.

	Wonderful modern hotel with a very friendly staff. This is a working farm, great for a family holiday. The rooms are large and comfortable. The coffie shop serves a great breakfast. There is plenty to do in the area and the views from the hotel are first rate.

	I loved it there! It was a beautiful setting, lovely rooms. The owner and her staff were so friendly and welcoming to both me and my little boy. The breakfasts are lovely too. I really hope to come back again!

	Very spacious modern rooms with huge comfy beds - we were very glad we chose to stay here and we would not hesitate to return or to recommend Woodland Bay to our family and friends. As an added bonus, we were able to watch the sunset over Ailsa Craig from our room.

	Just a shame that the restaurant is now closed and had to go into Girvan for dinner. Bedroom and bathroom were absolutely beautiful...and immaculate. A pleasure to stay here.

	I was very happy with the hotel and facilities. The hotel looked as though it had been recently refurbished (July 2010) which was nice. The hotel seems family run which is a good sign. Overall a very good and well run clean hotel.

We had a really excellent stay at Woodland Bay Hotel. We were made welcome by everyone from beginning to end. The room was spectacular and that is before we consider the lovely coastal views our particular room afforded. The breakfast was delicious and the dining room again bright and cheerful and the staff cheerful and attentive. I enjoyed our stay so much, I bought a painting on sale from the farm shop, a reminder of a really happy time. We came this time for a wedding but I would love to return for a relaxing coastal break. Many thanks to all the family. Anne Charleston PS the piglets in the farmyard were an added attraction!

	Great location, very comfortable room. Very tasty breakfast with pleasant staff. Only one thing, I didn't bring any shower gel and there wasn't any in my room.

Our Classic Rooms are sold with the bare neccessities in terms of extras in order to keep the price down to a budget rate. However all extras such as shower gel, toothbrushes, etc are available from Reception as detailed in the Guest Information Folders in each room. 	I was travelling on business so the hotel was in a great location for my meetings . It had lovely views and the rooms were a good size , very clean . modern with good facilities including Broadband which was important for me to do some work . Breakfast was excellent as well.

	What a wonderful place. Staff is extremely friendly (thanks for the daily newspaper), restaurant is top. They even make haggis taste quite nice. Farmshop gives great value for money en farm-animals bring a smile to your face. Our familyroom was huge, including very large bathroom and spectacular view. Try to book room 16!

	very very happy with our experience of the hotel, we didnt get there till late on the first night and there was somebody there to welcome us, the room was outstanding with no faults the service from all the staff was excellent and we felt we couldnt have been looked after any better! the best hotel we have stayed in by far!!

Well appointed (brand new)with all the facilities one would expect. Very welcoming on arrival with the overall impression that they genuinely wanted to help and make my one night stay the best it could possibly be. What is more important is that they were happy to charge the normal rate while others were grossly profiteering from the nearby Open Championship. Well done. A pleasure to stay and, given the opportunity, I would be delighted to return.
