Ushuaia, in the 'yamana' language means 'Bay overlooking the west' and is surrounded by Martial Mount to the west and by Olivia Mount and Cinco Hermanos to the East. Located on the shores of the Beagle Channel (Canal del Beagle), it offers a really unique landscape.

Hosteria America is situated in the centre of the city and offers you a unique view of Ushuaia Bay. The hostel has single, double and triple rooms; or you can book the suite or the penthouse overlooking the Beagle Channel (Canal del Beagle). Hosteria America is located 3 km from the airport.

Beautiful view to the Beagle Channel (Canal del Beagle) and its mountainous islands. You will also find some remains of a shell beach used by Yaghanes Indians.
• Cerro Castor: 27 km from Ushuaia city. It has the best snow and the longest ski season in South America.
• Martial Glacier (Glaciar Martiel): its an impressive snow-covered mountain, located 1.050 meters above sea level.
• Shopping: Tierra del Fuego is a special Customs Area. Its possible to acquire Tax-Free imported products, such as tobacco, spirits, electronic and photographic equipment.

Form of Payment:
Cancellations should be made at least 3 weeks before your expected arrival time. If you fail to do this, your deposit will not be refunded by Hosteria America. The hostel requires a 30% deposit, one month before your arrival. The owner will contact you, to give you the details. The rest of the payment, should be made 3 weeks before your arrival date.

Hosteria America is situated in the centre of the city, overlooking the Beagle Channel.

How to get there:

• By Car: You can only get to Ushuaia from Río Grande by the National Route 3, crossing the border to Chile through 'Paso San Sebastian' (you will arrive by ferry boat).
• By Plane: Islas Malvinas International Airport, inaugurated in 1998, connects different airlines with the rest of the world.
• By Boat: You will find Customs at 'San Sebastian' and 'Monte Aymond'; you can also use the ferry boat 'Primera Angostura' from 'Estrecho de Magallanes' to Punta Bahia o Punta Delgada.
