- May Square (Plaza de Mayo): founded by Juan de Garay. The plaza's prominent buildings create an architectural timeline: the Cabildo, or Old City Hall, and Metropolitan Cathedral are vestiges of the colonial period (18th and early 19th), while the Piramide de Mayo (Pyramid of May) and the buildings of the national and local government reflect the styles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
How to get there:
From Ezeiza International Airport 'Ministro Pistarini' (EZE): Located 35-km/ 21 miles from the city centre. Ezeiza Airport has 2 terminals:
- Terminal A: for Aerolineas Argentinas only.
- Terminal B: for all other airlines and for the very few domestic flights that operate from this airport.
The 2 terminals are close together and linked by a covered walkway. By Bus: Manuel Tienda Leon Bus runs every 30 minutes to Retiro Bus Station (near Retiro Train Station). From Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP)/ Domestic Airport: Located 3-km/ 2 miles from the city centre. The Airport has one long terminal with a service road and a main road at the front.
